Mazda 3 Ignition Coil

Today I have feel a vibration on my 2005 Mazda 3 + engine light start to glow , had to stop in a service station. They have found that one of my mazda 3 ignition coil need to be replaced.

So i have tried with Asiri Motors and replace the ignition coil (NOT GENUINE) -> 6,000.

After the replacement the engine light gone for quite few minutes and start to light again. With the ECU monitoring system, it's detected and ask to replace with the genuine coil. For now engine works perfectly.

Problem is Either Asiri Motors or Colonial motors doesn't have the Genuine Ignition Coils. They said that it will need at least 3 weeks to order and price will be 19,000 to 25,000 (One Coil). I feel like that is too much for a ignition coil. :sport-smiley-027:

Is there any other places that i can try.!!

or what should i do??

Mazda experts please help me on this. Because i really enjoyed the driving pleasure of the Mazda, But now i am kinda worried.

There is no reason why the ECU should differentiate between a genuine coil and after market coil, unless the after market coil is faulty in some way. You should take this up with Asiri and ask them to replace the coil.

There is another place called Rainbow and Gamlath motors in Panchi. They also carry Mazda spares

for most of Chinese and Taiwan coils ,mazda famila BJ throws CEL(so thismight be applicable to Mazda 3 and axela as well).

technical reason might be that this coils have not met the specification(primary or secondary resistance, etc... ) expected by the ECU.

Is that ok to use a used genuine coil ?

Mazda motors = Colonial Motors ryt??

Its not MazDa motors it's MazNa motors, and they certainly do not have anything to do with Colonial. They are an Independent specialist for mazdas, located in Pepiliyana, close to the junction.

Finally got it done from Carmart for 12,000 + vat and it's a genuine coil.

They are suggesting me to replace the front shocks and two bushes. :( :( more money i guess.

Get a second opinion on the shocks, but bushes if broken replace asap to minimise damage to suspension components.

Also no need to buy the shocks from Carmart. You can source OEM shocks from their distributors in SL for a lot less.
