I want to know if there is a permit scheme for SL expat workers who worked abroad and returned ,can show proof of remittances back home when there too,but returned 8 months back so is there a time limit IF there is/was a permit that I can use?

There used be one a few years ago where if you remit $100k in a local bank you got a permit that took something like 25% off your import taxes. I don't think it's in affect any more.
