Toyota Axio 2011 Engine Tune Up

briansmith

Question

My Axio 1.5 CVT, idle rpm remains roughly around 550-650 with A/C on. Is this a low value? If so what would be the exact idle rpm? Service has been done recently and air filter has also been replaced. Fuel consumption meter indicates as 12.5km/l on outstation running from Negembo to Maravila. ODO at 49000km. No previous records of an engine tune up.Is this an indication of a dusty throttle body?

Any good place around negembo for an engine tune up ??

At lower range, its very difficult to read the right idle RPM. Is your car vibrating? Is it emitting smoke? Is it low on fuel economy?

If you are not facing any of these problems, why worry?

Anyway you can get the injectors/throttle body etc. cleaned up. You can do it yourself. If the car has absolutely no issues, just use an in-tank injector cleaner and a spray carb cleaner.

Sorry, I don't know any place in Negombo area but Toyota Lanka is in Wattala which is not too far away.

Some valuable information for you:

Dear Crosswind

Thank you for yours advice. Only thing in worried is the rpm which comes to 550 when I apply brakes and when the car comes to a halt.No vibration or smoke observed. Fuel consumption is 12.5km/l on outstation running.

How to use a carb cleaner and what brand?

Valuable advices are appreciated.

Thank you

It's not a big deal, watch this below

there are many brands available in the market. I used B*G. 3*M also will be fine.

Don't spray too much inside the throttle as it could damage sensors like Throttle Position Sensor or Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Also you don't really need to brush it as it also could make damage. the cleaner will take care all the carbon deposits.
