Dear Expertz,

I'm planning to sell my Toyota Corolla 121 XLI (Manual) and go for one (hybrid/electric) with the price range of 3 - 4.5M. I'm planning to change the current one due to driving difficulties in Colombo city limit as it is a manual transmission and for fuel economy. I don't want to go with Suzuki Wagon R, Stingray kinds.

I used to drive in Colombo city limit around 800km/month and occasionally do long drives. What is your vies about having Nissan LEAF over Suzuki Swift (mild hybrid ) though it cost around 5M.

I really appreciate your views and advises.

Swift RS Turbo? Baleno?

These aren't hybrids but since they're 1000CC Turbo with Idling stop and whatnot fuel economy in traffic should be way better than the 121 despite both having more powerful engines than the 121. You can buy either of the cars unregistered for your budget too

Thanks Hyaenidae.

You mean Suzuki Swift RS Turbo will give more economy than 121(currently 121 gives 8-9km/l in Colombo city limit). what is the fuel economy of Swift RS Turbo 1000cc.?

Well  no one can tell you exact fuel figurez of any given car - simply because it dependz on your driving style and the roadz that you travel on - What Hyaenidae said was with all the fuel-saving tech on the newer carz it SHOULD be more economical than your current car.

You are just driving 800km a month and you are looking for a car that is more economical than a 121! Jeez...

If I were you, I'd put that money in a bank and take uber.

what about the new honda civic ?

Price will not match to my requirement and hope it will be more than 4.5M, if I'm not wrong.
