Alto 800 (2008) AC turns on too frequently, not very cold and high load to engine

Hi,

I've recently bought an Alto 800 (2008) with ~65K milage. The A/C doesn't get very cold in daytime (under direct sunlight). Also compressor kicks in too frequently even the temperature is set to a medium level.

 

The load that A/C puts on the engine is also considerably high and it is noticeable at pickup and hill climbing.

 

 I'm gonna try to fix this by my own ? . 

 

Do you guys have any clue that I need to start checking such as could it be low gas? Bad compressor or is it normal in these cars?

 

Really appreciate if you can give me some rough cost figures for the fixes that you suspect as well.

Hi,

First, adjust the temp controller to min. you're currently driving with the heater slightly on. ! the frequent turning on of the compressor may be due to previous owner reducing the cooling to save fuel. ever considered a light window tint?

Yes the a/c system puts a noticeable strain on the engine,,. switch off when you need extra power. and wash the condenser when your washing the car to maintain cooling efficiency. make sure the cooling fan freely runs with the a/c on. |behind the rad
 

And keep the interior re-circulation fully on,..
