Viva Elite to Picanto 2018 - is the upgrade worth?

Hi all,

I’m planning to upgrade from Viva Elite to Picanto 2018. 

But I’m confused as to whether is it a worthwhile upgrade? 

 

Because following facts are similar in both:

1) Engine capacity

2) Features (ABS, SRS)

3) Fuel efficiency 

4) Ride quality 

 

And I’m planning to buy brand new and use it for minimum 5 years. 

 

Please help me  to settle my mind. My other option is Lancer Ex, but it would be older.

Well, the Lancer EX is a whole different beast it's a  car that will put a smile on your face on most days. But yes it will be a bit old. So if you are a bit of a petrol head get the lancer. If you want hassle free a-b transport get the picanto. It will be a minor upgrade : (a)the car will be newer (b) the finish of the picanto is way better than the elite for instance compare the interiors of your viva with the picanto. The picanto comes with a 5y warranty so you'll basically have a headache less 5 years.

If you can find a Lancer in good nick go for it, but owners who maintain their Lancers in stellar condition aren't likely to sell them so finding one won't be easy

If the basic maintenance has been done in a timely manner you won't have to worry about an EX being older, It is as reliable as a 121/240 if not more  over time
