navindra80
Hi, I am planning to by Proton Waja 2007 edition with Cam Pro 1.6 L AT engine. Could you please give your feedback on the model specially use of proton for price, Spare parts availability, Fuel Consumption, riding experience etc? Your comments are highly appreciated. Crosswind
Impian was brand new imported. Wajas were imported from Singapore. Both are pretty much the same car from appearance but Impian was made for export market. Therefore, they had some additional options. Impians came with Proton's own Campro engine while almost all Wajas came with Mitsubishi 4G18 engine. Because of the fact that they were brand new imported and sold to people who could afford the hefty price tag at the time, most of them were reasonably well maintained. Let me make a wild guess. You must be talking about the 5715 car. If that's the vehicle, then it was owned and maintained by the Proton agent themselves. Before it was sold off, it was very well maintained. But I don't know how it was looked after, after it was disposed. Things like the alternator, A/C unit, some electronics and some engine components came from Mitsubishi even for this version of the car. So you won't have trouble with those spares. You may have some difficulty in sourcing body panels and interior parts. Ride experience with Protons have always been good. Impian was built at a time when Proton owned Lotus. The suspension design came from Lotus so it was a very comfortable car to be in. The flip side of course, is fuel consumption. It may do around 7 in city traffic. Campro engine is not very efficient but very good in performance.

ODO clocked 94k and seems all good in shape. It has Impian mark behind that seems came originally.

This car seems quite impressive with interior and options.

That's ok because Impian was the exact same car with a different engine and options. Its genuine dont worry.
