Mr.vag2, U happen to have a very bad attitude. I thought this forum was to ask questions like that. I dont need to go to a car sale when there is a forum to ask these types of questions. I guess all members(including u!!!) dont know the answer to the question I asked before. And FYI I'm not a impatient person I just got angry that this topic had 270 views without any answers.

iRage
@Virenmg..the forum is for automobile enthusiasts to discuss automotive related topics. It is NOT for people to come demand answers to how much taxes they would have to pay on the car they import. Also, people in the forum help each other out with information and we encourage that (eg. you could have researched in to the applicable taxes and informed us of what you found out and we could have provided with you some guiding information..that way you give something to the community and the community gives you something in return). In the past we have had threads that discuss the tax policies in Sri Lanka...and as a courtesy, when people have discussed about importing cars we have helped them on how on the tax calculation works so that they can roughly estimate the tax value themselves. If you had nicely asked how it should be calculated you would have gotten help. But since you simply wanted someone to tell you the value without you doing any work....no one bothered answering because : 1. You could have simply called a car importer or a wharf clerk and gotten the value 2. No one in the forum is a car importer or a tax specialist. Thus, no one wants to give you a value and have you import a car based on the value they give. If it is wrong you are just going to hold out members responsible for it. So...please ask your question from a car importer. That is what they are there for. I hope you find the answer to your question and all the best with your import. There are plenty of threads on the import process for cars....and also the vehicle you are looking at. I hope you come back and post your experiences with the importation and the car itself (we love seeing cars and talking about them....)
