Kev
Which transmission fluid does a Automatic 2014 honda fit hybrid DAA-GP5 use? CVT or ATF?
Dee Jay
The GP5 hybrid has a dual clutch transmission. Therefore, it is definitely NOT CVT transmission fluid you have to use. Use genuine Honda transmission fluid when changing.
Kev
Thanks for the reply Dee Jay, i am very confused though because a few persons answer ATF and a few say CVT . Where's an owners manual when you need one
Dee Jay
A CVT transmission was used in the previous generation FIT hybrid which is the GP1. For the GP1 hybrid the suitable transmission fluid was Honda genuine CVT transmission oil. For your one (since it is the GP5 hybrid variant) it is ATF (use genuine Honda oil) as I mentioned earlier and the relevant oil would be mentioned in the owner's manual. Since this is a Japanese Domestic Model most probably the owner's manual would be in Japanese. You would be able to find it via Google and use Google translator. Or else you can always contact the agent and inquire the transmission oil suitable for the model. You can get through Honda Japan site from here.
