Substitute Brake Pads

Guyz any idea what would be the best suited non genuine brake pad brand for Nissan cefiro J31. 

The Genuine's are steeply priced at around 37k for front and back.

Will akebono or mk kashiyama be suitable or are there any other better brands that would be reasonable and won't damage the brake systems as well.

Have you looked at Dixel ? There used to be an agent in SL and some independant parts suppliers who direct imported them. They have a pretty decent range at various price points and personally I like them more than Akebono. Akebono and Dixel are sort of neck and neck. Where normal pads are concerned....Akebono I beleive is the closest to a direct replacement for the original part (as even Toyota uses them following their own brand JoyDrive). Dixel would be a bit of an upgrade. Over here the Dixels are not that much pricey compared to Akebono (sometimes Akebono is more expensive depending onthe pad range).

Compared to Akebono and Dixel, MKKashiyama is a bit of a budget option

@Mohommed Mujahidh..you should also know that a few weeks ago Akebono got the inselves in legal trouble for falsifying test results of their brake pads for the last 20 years (basically faked results tht vehicle manufacturers had asked from them for conformance). 

Not that this would affect you (hopefully not) as nothing has been reported or found faulty for 20 years or has caused any accidents. They have also claimed that most of the data that was falsified were non critical attributes.

Yeah I did hear abt it.  The best bet for a decent priced good brake pad wud be akebono in Sri Lanka so I am trying to get a hold of them.
