Fuzzo, Did you end up buying a 100 series? These machines are so tempting yet so expensive. At the moment they are hovering around 9 mil ranges arnt they? Im Referring to the 1998-2000 65-xxxx 4.2 litre straight six 1-HD diesels. The petrol models have come crashing down on the prices too lately.

This looks more of a Sahara than a Cygnus.

Anyway if you are referring to 65- it's definitely a Sahara,

Cygnus they don't do a diesel version.

65 - Sahara in Good nick was hovering abt 8 mil before the budget tax cut,

I believe it must hv dropped to abt 6.5 to 7 mil bracket now,

Its 4.2 ltr and does abt 6 kmpl.

Well I'm guessing the guy has found what he needed in the 4 or so years since he started this topic, but it's interesting to see that the latest price cut has brought it to about where it was after the very first price hike.

Mate I am yet to see a 100 series aka Sahara with a 1HD go below 8.5.

And in no way it will come down to a 6.5 or 7, we are talking about a country where a 1999/2000 prado is in the range you mentioned, and yes thats after tax cuts. Jeeps took the lightest hit from the tax cuts from what I see. How many of those car sales have diesel jeeps? almost none, because even after the tax cuts diesel jeeps continue to be well above 15 million if to be imported. Prices might go down once the flood of hybrids come through though.

nope.. ended up with a montero

not too sure on the prices of the 100's anymore. i guess 9 mil for the diesels sound about right.

Thanks for the reply mate, hope the Monti is treating you well

Sahara 100 (Brought down by the company) are around 8 milllion. They are non turbo

Sahara 101 ( Japanese version) They are bit expensive around 10 million. They are turbo and with height control.. They are very good. But before buying check the height controls are working. Other wise it will cost about rs 500,000 to repair it. Also 101 comes with illuminated dash. These engines are very hardy. They are work horses.
