I went to see a Audi A4 2011 to see if it is good to buy, when we went on a trial run, the engine light was on and the A/C stared to work a while later. The owner says that the engine light is on because it needs to be serviced this true

Take it to the agent or an Audi specialist get it scanned and inspected. At the very least, take it to a place like car ch*cks. That will give you an idea of why the light is popping up.

The engine check light can come on for a variety of reasons (I thought the car had a service interval message and can be reset via the car info system). It is best to get it checked..or just walk away. Do not listen to what the seller is saying (who might in all sincerity might not know what the hell the light is) or what probable reasons can be off the internet. It is too much of money for you to take a silly risk like that.

RUN. I smell a buyya trying to rid of a car. No Audi we ever had had check engine light because of a service due.AC working late also sounds fishy. Plus these cars had oil burning issues. 
 

They are not bad cars, but for the money try another model. You can try to bargain a BMW 520D for bit more money. Much better car, but will also have some issues that need be fixed.

Like irage said, take any car to the agent or car ch**ks before you buy.
