CLA 200

Quiet

Recommended Posts

HI guys,

after 24 months 50K Km's later i have decided to part ways with my E200. my options are C180/200 2015-16 ish or CLA200 2018-19. CLA 200 is 1.3L engine and so many vehicles are currently put on market for sale. Can any expert give me feed back, are there any issues with the vehicle as so many are listed online for sale.

Firstly you seem to be downgrading, what year is your E200?

The C180/160 would be all 1.6l if you are looking at the 2016 model and the C200 would be a 2.0l, the CLA newer version was as you rightly said a 1.3l but with respectable horsepower figures.

A lot of people bought the second gen CLA for its looks and the price (first gen was closely priced to a C so buyers would have preferred the C to the CLA) hence the reason you will see a lot for sale. As I have always said the market is manipulated by the car sales people as they push only what they have.

The only issue I would foresee is the fact that the CLA with all its pretense is still smaller than the C Class with less headroom and claustrophobic rear seats. Some tall people who have a larger top frame will find it difficult to get in and out due to the rake of the A pillar. Some might feel the gear lever to be slightly cheap compared to the C Class

For the good things, the entertainment and displays are top notch. clear instrumentation and those customizable colour schemes and settings are still unmatched. Makes you feel younger and will definitely be a chick magnet (there I said it)

If its for the wife have a look at the A sedan as well, similar in style but cheaper.
