If I'm not mistaken the 507 was designed by a dude called Count Albrecht Geotz. He the guy who also designed the gorgeous Datsun 240Z and the Toyota 2000GT!

Those gills came back on the horrid looking Z3!

yeah machan u are correct about the Z8 being based on the 507. This was aimed @ Jaguar and Mercedez Benz. Last I heard one was sold at an auction in 1997 for US$350,000. Would be worth a little more than that now. (a couple of million if it were in SL )

But 150 BHP and 0-60 in 10 secs with a top of 125mph in the mid fifties is something to write home about.

performance figures r exceptional for that era - but as per the picture - 507 over Z8 any day for moi

there are a few for sale actually. I heard from Milroys bro that there were one or two 520's (300/301-) going for 4.2 Nego.

But you may be able to pick them up for less on a good day in the observer classifieds.

Presteige is also selling a few I think but those are most probably face lifted.

I know Milroy sold one one around 3.7 Mil, but that was about 6 months back.

Machan if u are lucky u might get a 301- with crystal lights and low mileage for under 4. By low mileage Im talking less than 15k cos I know of 1 that was sold some time back (pre- duty increase) for 2.8.

I also heard of a hacked (well used) green one 300- (Pre facelift) with about 50k miles on it go for 2.5 or 6. but this was post duty increase.

But stick with the 520, u cant go much wrong there.

Btw I saw an E36 325 for sale in yesterdays observer. Dont know much about the car but if its in good condition it would be a 'nice to have'.

I had a look at it. And went for a short drive and was blown away...............PERFECT!!

But I read on many forums that some cars of those years had incurrable overheating problems and the block goes bust. This car was from those early years. So I checkened out....

The later ones were sorted.

It was a silver E39..... owned by TNL radio.. Awesome car...I can't think of a more sorted car!
