The Xsara WRC was such a great car yet not many would notice it as Citroen did not have any road versions. What a shame.

Lancia were even worse. They never replaced the greatest rally car of all time.......the Delta Integrale!! :)

in order for special cars like é Integrale to survive there needed to be mass market demand or niché following..

but theres no money to be had if they dont work é numbers out - so Lancia didnt fail as manufactueres - they failed as Marketers !!

had they premium priced it n held onto é theme of é "greatest rally car" things may have worked out much better for Lanica as a whole.....

...but on a technical note was there a lil emissions issue there??? :)

In fact Citroen made the VTS & the VTR. But not the same 2.0litre engine but a 160+bhp saamler engine, but handling wise they were supposed to be quite good. I'v driven the XM (really comfortable, unbelieveable technology at that time), Xsara 1.8l (super engine with lots of power) and the Xantia (super car, its a tragedy that it had so many problems with the suspension and agents - everywhere, if not it would have been a mass selling vehicle).

The Citroen Saxo run in the local races is a VTS if I'm not mistaken with a power of about 120+bhp from the 1600cc engine.

a lot is said abt how comfy that fancy Hydropenumatic suspension is on Citroën's but what is it like when it comes to day to day use??

&what sorta trouble was expereinced?

there r cars here with that suspension set up right?

In fact Hydronumatic suspension had been in use by Citroen for a long time the classics such as the DS have it. In fact in the citroen range other than the Xsara, Saxo and the Latest C1, C2, C4 and their commercial range the others such as XM, Xantia, C5, C6 have the suspension unit.

Its not a problem if you look after the car properly for 20,000kms after which you have to change the suspension, which will be quite an expensive job considering the high prices for the parts. This is what makes the Citroen's after market value go down. Otherwise where else can you get a fully loaded 2.0litre petrol year 2001/2 model luxury car for 1.2mil???

As long as they are good it'l give you the best ride quality you have experienced, and that wow factor is there. I'm not sure who else uses this system.

Nowadays its the air suspension that is mainly used by manufacturers the world over.
