neXGen
Oh.. one more note to add... video recording quality in Sony Ericssons upto now are of poor quality in comparison to the Nokia n73 etc... this is due to Sony using an low quality codec (QCIF) for video capturing... having a look at Gihans post you would understand it further... alfaQ
speaking of cameras, i'm actually looking for a good professional camera for myself. want to get to know the 'photographic' side of me i'm looking for something in the 30 to 35k range, maybe go up to abt 40k if its really worth, nothin too expensive, needs to have good resoulution, good lens and zoom with a fast shutter speed maybe? can somebody suggest a good cam for me? pericles? speaking of the quality of samsung phones, i fell in love with the 'slimmest phone in the world' and i bought it. a week later, the display busted. apparently a drop of water's seeped thru (my own sweat??) and messed the display. warranty is void as a result and the disp costs 10k. u need to be careful with them samsungs, i believe the quality of the SE's are much better. alfaQ
Devinda_Z
samsungs and display porblems have a long long history those things are very sensitive to drops n moisture! if u wanna VFM phone, look no further than a Nokia - i've hear issues of é OS being slow on N series phones but é lightly older Symbian Series 60 phones are bullet proof!! u can kick it drop it use it in the rain wut ever - guaranteeted never to skip a beat! neXGen
@ Alfaq - I really cant comment on which are good or not .. but i guess with the current requisites ya go for a camera with a minimum of 5 mp and a CCD lens.. Preferable brands are Olympus, Canon and Sony as i mentioned earlier.. prices ve come down quite a bit so ya could get one for a good price.. better ya buy from plc s like singapore or dubai.. cheaper over there.. @ DevZ - the Nseries are really slow! the n73 takes a min bout 5-7 seconds just to capture an image and bout 3-5 seconds to load the camera application.. a reason which made me change my mind about it.. the K800 is quite fast n dependable.. but when it comes to UI, there s nothin to beat Nokia.. for those in need of a decent camera fone with good music capabilities (non-symbian) chk out the 6233.. real nice in ma opinion.. Devinda_Z
Symbian is the way to go ...after using windows mobile n seeing it crash & do soooo many other things to itself ( none of it good btw) - it safe to say if a person want fully customizable & hands down the most well thought out n user friendly interface look no further than a Symbian Linux was ok as on é Moto's - customable menus & é a pretty flexi UI if fun for a techie but too many options for a normal user
neXGen
lol.. a smartphone fan i see.. i was one too.. but the drawbacks pushed back my likings a bit.. i stil would opt for symbian phone nevertheless.. the N95 that is!!! Zz
Devinda_Z
i swear i will never use a normal phone again - theres so much pottential for expansion n customizing on a smartphone! Symbian may be a tad slow but the ways its built makes in one of the best innovation in mobile telphony IMO !! ...N71 for me - but need to sell é car for that dream to come through...until then its jus me n my hardwearing phone of 3 yrs - é 6600 ...iMATE's have come n gone but é Nokia remains forever! Devinda_Z
doubt it bro - unless u'd backed up using a Nokia suite onto a computer i dont see how é data could be retained u'd have to check with a phone specialist to see if the data is still on board but uf this guy has done a hard reset , then no chance of retrieval... neXGen
theres deffa a chance o retrieving stuff unless ya ve already copied some new stuff onto the phone.. theoretically no data is deleted unless another piece o data is swiped over it.. am not sure how the hard resets works as to whether it is a clean single sweep or just a formatting.. suggest ya check out a fone speciailist.. n if ya nos were saved onto a memory card.. there are software out there which ll help ya somehow retain atleast a certain portion o the data.. but chances r slim.. ya should ve backed t up.. Devinda_Z
a hard reset will wipe everything clean and bring it back to a factory image but since his MP3's r still there it can be assured that it hasnt been reset but merely deleted i've also hear this notion abt data not being lost unless re-written over it as u noted nexgen Gihan - only a phone guru can help now so try those two places n see.. but for future reference Back up your data - always bro!!! neXGen
Yo... if ya wanna retriev the contacts from the memory card.. i suggest ya purchase a mem card reader and use a combo o recovery software.. from what i knw the partition should be FAT16 or 32, 16 more like it so these progs could at times recover the files.. no guarantees though just a suggestion... and the same could apply to the sim too.. and just to help bring a smile to ya face .. http://www.p-dd.com/sim-card-files-recovery-software.html Note that ya will need a sim reader .. and make sure nothing is written over the sim... neXGen
depends dude.. i ve got an entire repositories o sites etc. from where d i gotta check for what i want torrents are usually ma last option.. though it is preferable if ya wanna achieve 100% none file corruption.. there is this dude selling somethin called a Supersim (not advertising!) which supposedly backs upto 16 sims of various networks (with the contacts o each particular) onto a single sim card.. ya get a reader and a blank sim card.. not sure how it works fully stil.. but if there is a chance o havin multiple networks o a single sim and being able 2 switch as desired.. that would definitely.. ROCK! Zz
Devinda_Z
thats pretty funky - but a basic DUAL SIM holder will do é job for cheap with no hassle but it would be cool if é number of SIM contacts could be increased from é stock 150 or 250 né! but then again - it'll only have é phone no - where as a Nokia suite & symbian contact list will allow soooo muuch info from www to email to everything concivable under a single contact's name - gotta love that!!! n intstn outlook sync!
