Can anyone offer any advice on crash helmets? Are there imported helmets available here in SL? Or is it only the local stuff? I'd like to get something cool. Need to get one for track days.

You get taxed whatever you bring down. How much is a little luck of the draw sort apparently. Could be up to 40% of value, unless there is an extra levy to support local industry etc etc

I remember hearing that carrying over helmets while flying attracted some trouble. It was a long time ago though.

Shipping that in will get it held up at customs for sure. How much from there on out is anybody's guess.

I've been drooling on a Simpson Diamondback helmet (stig's helmet) but can't bring myself to justify the price tag

try maligawatta area shops. i faintly recall seeing similar style helmets there. with the whole ww aviator style goggles.
