When over taking it is not giving enough acceleration but rpm is increasing. Also smoke is too black even back door is getting black. I can say gears are not shifting properly. Gear oil at correct level. I'm new to this vehicle please advice me what will be the problem. Or is there any good mechanic who is specialize in this kind of vehicle. JDM_Ninja
Japanese cars from the 90s, such as the CR27 mostly came with terrible torque converter automatic gearboxes. The 2C engines were not powerful to begin with, so the addition of an inefficient gearbox led to a very laggy and unpleasant driving experience. This is why the market used to favour manual gearboxes back then. Since your van is nearly 30 years old now, the engine and gearbox have both seen a lot of wear, which affects performance even more. This is why it will struggle to make a quick overtake when compared to modern vehicles. This is something you will have to live with. But try some basic maintenance steps, such as checking the diesel filter, diesel pump. Also consider having a gear box fluid change.
