Vehicle Identification Number Location

Guys,

Anyone knows where can i find my VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) number? Its a Corolla ZZE 122. i just checked the normal places. (Top Of the Dash, Door Jamb..etc) But Couldn't Find any

in the engine bay there ought to be a metal plate..

it should also be engraved into the bulkhead on the portion beneath the windsreen, visible once you pop the hood

Are you referring to VIC (vehicle identity card number)

If it's the case, it's the document you get from the dept. of motor traffic. This is a must when you transferring a vehicle. It's basically contains the same information of the certificate of registration of a motor vehicle. Apart from that you get the chassis number and the engine number in a vehicle.

No machan, this is something else. this is unique number given by Vehicle manufacturer to identify a vehicle. so they can use this details to gather Manufacturing plant, Country, Model etc..

Some Japanese manufacturers use a different format (for ex: model code + serial number) for domestic vehicles, so you may not be able to figure out all the information from VIN itself.
