360-degree protection including floor with multiple discreet gun ports.

6 cylinder turbo diesel 5.88 liters 240HP.

NIJ Level IV materials (composite armor and bullet resistant glass) tested against .30 caliber AP (U.S. APM2) 166 grain 2850 feet per second.

Instead of adapting armouring for an existing vehicle, Labock uses the most appropriate chassis and motors, and custom builds vehicles with protection against AP (armour piercing) bullets and significant bomb blast protection.

The Rhino Runner is fully protected (sides, front, back, roof, floor, and even glass) against up to Type IV (NIJ standard) including NATO calibres.

Special composite bulletproof armour, which is so light that it floats in water, and one-way bulletproof glass that prevents bullets from getting to you, but enables you to shoot through the glass at those shooting at you.

Available in a range of seating capacities (17, 24 and 36) and configurations for purposes such as prisoner transport, ambulance, SWAT, command and control, and they can be made to order.

Dual A/C system.

Apart from the 360-degree ballistic protection, the vehicles have a side and back door and an emergency exit on the roof and run flat tires for when changing a tire is not a viable option.

suppose this was designed to combat the Iraqi militia after all those roadside ambushes etc.

Seems to be quite nicely armored but if i'm not wrong IED's these days can penetrate more than 6 inches of steel armor...and making such IED's are not that expensive...

Suppose something like this will offer some good protection from small to medium arms fire and indirect fire like Claymores etc...

always wondered why despite repeated claymore attacks on military buses etc why our fellows are not putting up armor into troop transport buses?

thanks for the link mate...read it up :)

chances are with sadam and rumsfeld, it would've been a part of a heavily armored convoy so it really doesn't have to take anything head on... and the story they have about the suicide bombing is not the type of explosion i was referring to

modern low tech IED can throw a good punch at even the heavily armored US MBT's... it works in such away that a fast burning explosive cocktail super heats a metal cone and fires it towards the target in almost semi liquid form at super high speeds... This thing just melts through most of the armor they tested it on...

I'm a freak for Discovery and History channel stuff

Still this bus seems to be quite a tough contender :) I think this was on "future weapons" on discovery channel too :)
