GihanFX
saw the Demo but still dnt know the Price, anyway SLT ADSL is a Requirment to get this service, i think the Net speed will be bit slow than now after they launch it
Devinda_Z
i've been meaning to ask , what exactly is this IPTV thingy?? i got a postcard from SLT about some exhibition/exposition regarding this... just the usual foreign channels is it? so what makes it interective or different from normal cable tv? i will admit to being an utter novice in this regard... - has anyone had any experience with IPTV in some form or another? Ripper
Ripper said: errr whas up boss to answer devinda's q on the other thread... IPTV has some major benefits over standard cable or sat tv... for starters...all usual tv programs are stored on a central server and if you miss anything you can always recall that episode or whatever and watch it at your convenience... and also...you can pause live programmes like cricket matches... say sana is having a go at the opposition and you just have to take a leak... press pause... do ya thing and get back and watch the match from the place/time you left off... of course you'll be slight behind that actual action but hell you won't miss anything... if need be you can FF thought boring stuff and catch upto the live game again... also unlike my horrible dIalogTV at present that hates bad weather or anything close to it... since IPTV is via cable lines... weather won't interfere with reception... IMO...those few pointers alone make the product a real good one... But their adveritising of course is really horrible... They have done a crappy job at explaining the product to people... If they can get good programmes on board... it'll be quite a good product offering
