this "traffic scheme" must be an idea of the biggest idiot of this country. was a nightmare trying to figure out how to get home last night...

understandably security is of utmost importance but at the same time these fools should do more to ensure the hassle for civilians is minimized. Roads are closed from time to time without proper notice and most of the alternative roads also take you no where cos those damn things also get closed...

Imagine a pregnant lady or a person needing serious medical attention trying to make it to a hospital? these dumb farts don't have the brains to figure out scenarios like that...

If any of you fools are reading this by a potta chance... You lot are real dumb F***s! "Traffic scheme" is nothing but fricking roads closed and your F***ing alternative roads don't work... I hope one of your close family member gets a heart attack or something and die while being in this traffic due to lack of medical attention! effing retards!!!

Lots of anger there neda my friend? :D

However I do agree with you on this............these jackasses won't know if a threat is apparent until someone buggers them from behind. My opinion is that all this closures and barricades are their way of showing how inadequately equiped all these F*%#ers are at handling this sort of situation, and maintaining security. I may be wrong, but aren't the options of helicopters open for this sort "commute"? especially in the instance of several leaders of countries being present?

How do V*P's in other coutries travel? Mind you the threat of trrorism is not isolated to our country.

Sad to see this sort of crap being taken lying down, by us all. (Yes me included, in case some were wondering) :P

pi$$ed off mate... working your butt of the whole day, paying insane taxes etc etc and you can't even go to your home for some much earned chilling time??? that's crazy...

I could bite the bullet and wait but imagine if someone was badly ill or something and needing to go to hospital???

Is it ok to let that person die just because our morons didn't have a proper plan?

I'm all for kicking ltte and need for security blah blah but there has to be an effing line somewhere right... This is bloody crazy....

I tried leaving office 4 times and each time had to back track cos the blood roads were closed and not even cops on the roads know what's going on...

alternative roads are also useless cos those also get closed at some point...

why the hell do we need such special trained military and police if the best security is closing roads completely?

last saturday too i was on my way to watch a movie with wifey and this loosers closed the road without notice... I burnt half a tank of gas in the traffic... Mind you my car does close 12kmpl is colombo under normal traffic...

This is insane... Like you rightly said...we're too tolerant...

Yeah, well, I got caught at the Malabe Junc at 10:30pm last night. If some V*P went, I never noticed them, but they let the traffic move after about 5 mins. I just offed the engine and waited. Lucky it was night and there was no need for A/C. I suspect they screwed up a bit coz when they let us go and we moved on a bit, we passed some motorcycles that looked like escort riders waving and honking and going the other way.

The whole thing was fairly needless. At that time of night, there aren't many vehicles on the road to impede any V*P movement, so there really shouldn't be any need to stop traffic. Which was why I elected to go at that time too :)

Some three-wheel bugger tried to put wrong side and go and got blasted by the army dude and turned back. Had to laugh at that. And he was arguing. With a guy with a AK-47. Not a wise course of action :)

oh well...i've done the same quite a few times :P Once the copper even said he can shoot me and drop me over the bridge we were on and nobody would even notice it

most of the times army guys are quite polite and easy going...not like damn coppers :angry-smiley-048:

seems like i'm the only one who has been really unlucky with this new "traffic plan" :action-smiley-060:

I think this stupid summit would have been far better held outside Colombo at some five star resort !

The direct cost of the summit to SL must have been quite high, but its probably nothing compared to the damage to the economy !

The problem is none of these dim wits have enough brain cells to think beyond immediate issues, or think outside the box !

I just got back from a wedding, and was shocked to learn that the couple was informed one week prior to the day that the gvmt had instructed all hotels in the high security zone to cancel all events. Luckily they managed to get another venue, but I'm sure not everyone would have been so lucky

this is ridiculous. I mean, come on, that is just blatant disregard for the general public just so that our criminaly stupid "leaders" could show a rosy picture to some political a-holes who don't really give a $h#t about this country anyway..

LOL, Yeah I've argued a few times with these sods too.............an youre right ripper, it's the cops. I must say 99.9% of the army and airforce guys i've encountered have been very courteous ( did I spell that right? )

And no mate youre not the only one whos been inconvenienced............trust me <_<

Oh and Arc angel, I'm in the hotel industry and this comes as a real kick in the nuts, especially at this juncture where we're pleading for business anyway. I do sympathise with those that had booked their wedding receptions during this period and had to cancel. As far as I know, there was no one whos taken this up and asked for compenstion.

Like I said before, tolerant bunch we are
