Engine Miss In The Morning

HI All

pls comment to my situation if u know any causes

When I started my car yesterday (corolla 122) there was an unusual engine miss and the vehicle vibrates and then the engine stopped

then I restarted and gave gas and then it was ok

this is the first time i encounter that kind of a situ

any ideas on this and any steps to over come this

I had the same problem yesterday morning and afternoon.

But, when i start the Car today morning, it was ok.

Is it because of driving in flooded roads?

engine "misses" can come due to several reasons.

--engine over or under heating

--oil in the plugs

--incostistant petrol supply(blocked pump,filter etc..)

--bad air filter

maybe the other guys could add to this

If those things has issues, you will get a continues misses even when you drive the car.

Issue is, this was happen in the morning and afternoon (when the engine was cold).

Its like this, in the first time you Fire the engine, it gives you a miss and then stops the engine. but, as soon as you turn it off, and fire again, then it gets start.

This happends to me yesterday morning and afternoon, but today morning, everything is normal and gave me a good start.

Yes its quite similar to your symptoms

may be due to floods and rains

Hmm.. perhaps Water in petrol tank can cause sudden hiccups..

And what about the Spark Plug Condition?

Well, I think i'm safe now. There is no more Misses in the morning or evenings.

one off cases like these are very hard to diagnose.. but if the problem persists.. it can be anyting from a vaccum leak to bad ignition.
