Question

Posted

Dear All,

I got a new VDO Tachmeter, which I want to connect to my CJ5 jeep fitted with a mitsubishi 4DR5 engine. By the way the Jeep runs on Diesel, 24 V system

But my problem is that the mitsubishi alternator has no markings on the alternator terminals.

How do I find the "W" or "R" or "1" terminal to wire the Tachmeter.

Is their a way to find-out the which wire gives out a plus.

Tools I have = a light tester and a multimeter.

Please help!

Best Regards,

Dinesh

It is a compatible with 24v system. I have already hooked it up and it lights-up but dose not show a reading as I have to connect one of the lines to the "W" terminal in the alternator, then I shoud have a reading or plus.

Machan please don’t get me wrong with this advice!

There are certain things DIY and many are not for amateurs. Particularly stuff meddles with electrics. Consequences may be costly. I handle few things myself and more often than not, I depend on a specialized to handle in my company. Thats fun too. I save money, time and my machines.

So visit a qualified electrician who got expert hand on 24V and Jeeps.(I can list dozen here).Dont waste your time waiting for a ‘fake guru’ to post a reply here. Mind you there are plenty you find here.
