Vios Cv Joints Constantly Breaking! :(

virensti

Question

Well reffering to my earlier problem with the engine rev up issue, (thanks to everyone who helped me out on that) its gonna get sorted at the end of the month, (Apparently has some blocked injectors, so the petrol sometimes goes to the piston even after the throttle valve is closed, and has a stuck VVT-I system, but Bruce Nigel's gonna sort me out on that one :D )

ANYWAYS back to the bloody CV joints!! We are on the 5th CV joint now!! both the left and right one are making the "katakata" noise now which means they're obviously gone! The boots are fine as well!! Does anyone have any idea's as to why this is happening? All the CV joints have been bought from GS auto in Rajagiriya, you think the stuff there are bad? Case I'm quite frankly getting sick of these damn CV joints!!! (5 thousand bucks per CV joint doesnt help either!!) Does anyone have any ideas as to why these might be constantly breaking? Something wrong with the suspension maybe?? And I cant afford the stuff from Toyota cause they sell the entire set (axels and the CV joints together) and that's something like 45 thousand or something!

so once again...

help!!!

Well my dad isn't gonna buy brake pads for 900 bucks! lol He just said no way! hehe but the CVJ's.. What's the brand you put machan?

well i'm not gonna justify the price of brake pads but i'm monitoring the wear and tear of disks but so far i haven't noticed a difference or pad being too harsh on the disk. Branding and pricing mostly play with perception and may not directly related to the actual performance of the stuff.

Cv brand name was izumi.

They've stopped selling them. lol now they sell these ones which we bought. They said that they had too many complaints on the ones I used to have.. Anyway I'm really glad they gave us the 6 month warrenty.. Thats longer than what the others lasted. So we'll see. any anyway We have to apparently get the steering rack adjusted when we put these new ones. :S so yeah.

I just dont get why you would give them more of your business by purchasing from them once again, even after after they sold you a crap product before (3 times was it?) :action-smiley-060:

cause there's no where else I can go to. I cant go to Toyota.. and i dont trust the other panchigawatta places (i mean some places there tried to sell me CVJ's for 2000 bucks).. and to be fair these guys aren't that bad. loads of people get their parts from them... and now the pair i bought ARE a different brand.. :)

Had the same issue when we bought the CR51, a pair of joints lasted only 3months etc.. Well it sorted out after we replaced the entire front end from a recon cut front half (did it since the steering rack started having issues), replaced the front wishbones, front diff bit (4wd), steering rack and ends etc.. might have been another damaged part causing it. so just look into that...
