& lets not forget the win at the Colombo Motorcross at Waters Edge as well ! :)

can that be the case of a good driver behind the wheel for the most part and not necessarily the machine?

that straight 6 is is such a nice engine in that the power delivery is just "creamy" for a lack of a better word!

Brave statement, but having both around you'd be a good judge of the fact i reckon - but i will definitely agree that the P11 Camino's handle absurdly well for compared to just about any 4 door sedan around

yeah, creamy is the word.. Ha ha ha ha.

and yes, the P11 is all that.

hence why I am stuck with both!! ha ha ha ha.... Its like having Giselle Bunchen and Aishwarya Rai as your concubines... just need to have them both!!!

Mini, what is the Kelisa Engine based on? Not going by what JC says, it is just a basic people mover and cannot be compared the way he compares vehicles and their pedigrees.

Kelisa got 3 cylinder 989cc DOHC 12v (EJ-DE )Efi engine .Some similarities with the based Mira's 660 engine.A good engine that delivers good power and very impressive fuel consumption.

Even in the British context there are more sensible advice than that of JC.

http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/pe...-review/23717-5

Note they mean that in the british context, where kelisas are almost cheaper than walking thanks to depreciation. When you add SL prices into the mix, it makes a lot less sense.

Anyway, Don't listen to JC !

Hi all,

Many thnaks for the great advices. Why they so angry with non European vehicles?

May be they do not like asians to come forward.

I got two options. 1. Maruti Alto 2004 - AC, PS, Alloys, Jet Black

2. Kelisa 2002 - Fulll Option

What do you recomand?

Both are in same price range.

Really appreciate your ideas.

BTW I may go for a new car after two years time.

Thanks

I guess the Maruti Alto referred by you is an 800cc version since you have not mentioned Power Shutters (front doors only, however).

Regarding the looks, pre-2005 Maruti Altos (especilly the 800cc LXi trim) have very boring exteriors and interiors.

For me, the only saving grace is the Digital Odometer/Tripmeter. :)

Better go for the Kelisa cause it is faster than the Alto and also More comfy.

But if you are concerned about the year go for the Alto

Its an Alto 1.1 or 800cc version??

Hi Thaks.

It is 800 CC

i drove one yesterday. and it pretty much won me over. i was comparing it with altos marchs and vitzs mostly. and it seemed to offer a fine compromise between them. it was a pretty short drive and i managed to explore most of the engines character. and i must say i was pretty satisfied with it. i even spun the wheels at one point. however the clutch and the gearchange was a bit on the heavy side. and 6 footers will find it difficult to get behind the wheel. but overall it was pretty spacious. and my friend who owned the car said it costs less than 10 rupees a km. not bad at all for someone with a heavy foot. and he's totally satisfied with his car. mind you, he also owns a supra tt. so if its good enough for him it should be good enough for anyone.

Hi JadeyBlitzen,

Thanks for sharing your experience. What is the motor. 1000CC ?

You drove a manual car Isn't it?

But mte if this small car cost 10 rupees per Km, don't you think it is bit higher side compaired to standard sedan?

well that equates to around 13km/l. like i said this guy has a heavy foot. so 13 km/l for a car driven hard isn't bad at all.

yes
