Just wanted to find out from anyone who have owned or driven a Nissan Presea 1997-2000 model.

Hows it performance and the availability of spare parts.

Does it do well on petrol and hows the resale value.

What would be the best price to pay for this model.

Well one of my friend's has a Presea ct S. It's a 1.8l engine (m/t) which gets around 8 km/l in colombo.. Spares are not bad and the performance is pretty good. I'm not sure about the pricing though mate.

Some of the body parts difficult to find, but it is a nice reliable car. If you buy 1500cc one, the maintenance cost is very low. With the options available, it has a good value for money spent.

I checked a few Preseas some time back, and it's a nice car (with those frameless glass - usually full option - climate control, retract mirrors, rpm etc)

But it's not the most economical car of Nissan I guess..

The best deal I got (this is abt 9-10 months back) was Rs.980K for a 302-**** one. But didn't buy it cause the guy had converted it to gas, and he said he'd remove the gas kit for that price.... I said fly a kite..!

In my opinion nissan presea 1999 (with the crystal lights) is one of the best looking nissans to hit the local market (im sure some may not agree, but its my personal opinion). I love the dark blue car with that blue illuminated guage cluster. Dont mind having one in the garage... even though the model year is quite old the aesthetics are amazing... go for it

Do the preseas sell for less that the sunny.

What would be the ideal price for a presea.

Two of my friends got 1500cc auto and manual. Its good spaces cars. But when driving the auto it felt little under powered. Had to switch off the A/C in small climbs. Acceleration in auto was not very good. However manual one is much better

Agreed. The final iteration of the Presea still has a marked presence on the road, and the interior aesthetics really are very good, especially the blue/indigo dashboard like you've mentioned. The climate control is a treat too, one of the last models to offer a VFD, as opposed to LCDs in newer cars. And plenty of leg room in the rear (I'm a fat bastard, hence rear legroom is a KPI when appraising any vehicle).

pulsar and the sunny are mostly in one chassis, nissan presea is much hotter than the pulsar!

its a low mileage first owner car. its in mint condition. i just wanna know the exact fuel consumption of presea within colombo during heavy traffic (its more than enough for me if it does 7kmpl)

so guys who have used presea, please share your experience regarding the fuel consumption and other defects (except the ground clearance) of this car.

It’s a good car. Most of the parts are compatible with FB-14 except the body parts. My wife is having 1998 English #. Its work around 10km in city and 12km in outstation. Price around 11-12.5m you can get an English #.

I used to own the older model and love this car. It used to have a carb engine. Think the model you refer has EFI engine. So, I'll refrain from commenting on that aspect.

The car has relatively low ground clearance which is a con. But the same low height profile of the car makes it very stable. Very comfy. CTII is full option by default. Also note that Nissan has discontinued Presea line-up, so there won't be any newer models in the future. I have seen there are plenty of body parts and doors around wijerama area. I think it has the 1500 CC engine you get in Sunny B14.

You need to take special care of the door beadings as the doors are frameless and any damage to them would result leaks

Yes wht i refer was 1500cc automatic trans one. I feel this is the best looking Nissan of same year. It looks so nice than B14, B15 n N16. But will be beaten by latest Sylpy and Cefiro only.

Yes it looks awesome, and is a great ride. Just check the aftersale value, as SL car market's value is driven by demand and the amount of fuel consumpsion.

I have even followed few cars on the road and checked out with the owners but all of them were auto ..... Can anyone please help me out to find a White Manual which has english numbers? ....
