What Does Vtec Conversion Really Mean ???

What does VTEC conversion of an NON VTEC Engine really mean ? ...details details details... :-)

and does it only mean more power ?

It means installing a Vtec engine in a car that didn't come with a Vtec engine. Yes, Vtec engines generally have a little more power but the main benefit is having power both in the bottom and top end by way of running different cam profiles based on engine RPM.

It's not always the case... But I did it that way, cos rest of the engine was identical. had to change the sump too. But this would vary for each make.

Aka Vtec Mini-me. Anyways you can google and look up on other Honda specific forums for specific details of this process. There are DIYs with pics too

i have heard some mechanics saying that its possible. i think you will have to change cams, the ecu. not sure. pls correct me if im wrong. I believe that you will be able to find vtec engines in good condition as well.

Do a search on the Mazda section... I posted details and pics of my Vtec conversion.. I changed from ZL-DE to ZL-VE (SVT)
