Ek-3 Radiator Fan

Madhu

Depends on what you mean by 'locally installed' Have you bypassed any of the original circuitry?

Guys,

I have found that the radiator fan of my EK-3 has a locally installed power supply.

Original seems not working properly.

Is this bad?

Any thoughts?

thanks

madhu,

is there a problem with your radiator? is the car over heating?

if your car is not heating and it's working fine. best leave it alone. my 2 cents

very true..

some people bypass the thermostat to keep the fan working non-stop,believing that is the cause for overheating...when in reality it's the radiator itself that has sprouted unnoticable leaks,or summin' like that...i'd go with the original set-up,as i've heard the continous revoloution of the fan, without the "governing" of the thermostat is harmful to the engine(not personally verified).

Well I was told that My Radiator fan was not working properly by an electrician. The car heats up when I speed over 60 and heat comes back to normal when I drive slow.

I m still not sure if its problem with the fan or if its the radiator it self.

For most of the Japanese vehicles radiator fan works in Slow mode & Fast modes. This is achieved by wiring two fans in series (slow mode) and parallel (fast mode). When the A/C is on fans work continuously in slow mode. When the car is heated fan works in fast mode. After cooling it become to slow mode if the A/C is on or fan switches off if A/C is off. So check your car is working simillar to that.

Good luck
