But how about the VIN plate? I have seen Vi/VTi ones labeled. Haven't taken a look at ViRS one though

On the ViRS ..look at the front fender connecting crash zone bar...u will find the VIC, and the "TYPE-RS" in an engraved badge...

also if the RS is multimatic...it must have S1 and S2 , or if its manual...check on the VIC badge and u will find OEM strut bar in the engine bay...also the ECU code....

Bro, VTi is the export VTEC model...here ur refering singapore imports ha ? if that the case Singa imported VTi are the VTEC civics and also non vtec civics also imported from singa and its badged as EXi , jus as in sri lankan EXi models....there was a one RS converted EXi (once was advertised for sale also in Autolanka..bearing some H series number with 1111 on the digits...), with a vtec head, fuel pressure regulator but with the D15Z1 engine block....this D15Z is the engine which doesnt comes with vtec..but obtains a more aggressive cam...with normal cam Lobes...this D15Z comes in the EXi model.....not in the VTi model...if a VTi has this d15Z engine block...either it's being rebadged by a punk ass or a converted to a VTEC...

so you mean even singa vti vtec has d15b? i remeber that converted rs sometime back on AL. was in good ondition by the looks of it. im taliking about the d15z 7..are you sure??

Bro..we know that EK3 comes with 2 exterior designs as 95-98(old) & 99-00(new). In that 95-98 design, do we have 3 models as exi, vti & vi or we have only exi & vi models?? Also when it comes to 99-00 body design, do we have 4 models as exi, vti, vi & viRS or we have only 3 models as exi,vti & viRS where 99-00 vi referring as viRS??

Cheers!

small correction- ek3 facelift version started on late 98 and went up to late dec 2000. there are a few 98 facelift versions availble in sri lanka too.

95 to 98 vesrion had below trim levels

exi -export version asia

ML- domestic lover grade

vi - domestic highest grade

hx - US europe

fecelift vesion had below mods.

vi - jdm highest grade

virs- jdm RS grade

lev- Low emission vehicle with improved emission levels.

exi - export verion asia

vti - export version- singapore.

above are subject to amendments by anyone who has a better insight

Thanks for the early reply bro!!!! Can you further describe the differences between vi, vti & lev models in the later face lift version. Specially the technical differences and the tips to identify those other than the badges :D

Probably, why not. Hope there isnt an OBD difference between both... OR better yet a remap

i dont think there is an OBD diffrence. you mean to remap a vi ecu?

For a manual tranny...its possible....and also 100% compatible....machan...are u hoping to do an ECU upgrade ? by da way..did u buy a new ride machan...if so wot z it ?

Yeah, could run a remap for that specific engine?? Which I guess would be better than tracking down a VIRS ecu. But as i heard OBD2 ecus aren't remapped here and that an OBD1 ecu and an OBD2 to OBD1 harness would do the job

i think vi has better power-to weight than ViRS. same power but Vi is a tad lighter. so an ecu upgrade might not be required unless you go down a path like tuned-ichips.

yeah thats true. but virs has more agressive fuel map to compensate the power to weight ratio i guess.

Bro now u ride a Vi ? wohooo....good..good and its a manual.....dont tell me its dat WINE RED color with gold badges...was @ HSBC wattala....LMAO...

Obviously good gals...good lands...good houses and specially a good and well maintained car z damm hard to find....tell me bout it bro...after selling my ES1 i searched for a unspoiled ES5 or ES3 for more than 8 months...finally i found my Baby....damm im glad to settle with her cz Mercantile Investments LTD..did a great job for me...with certified beauro veritas certificate and with a 1 year guarantee for the drive train / power train and its untouched and ow yeah...virgin...(i mean my ES5...LMAO...)

Bro if u planning to do a ECU upgrade..dont remap it...do a Part to Part replace...cz after all no ECU can perform like an OEM...bcz if u wanna upgrade or tune a car..its from totaly into the pwertrain and drive train..not with some selected parts..specially like an ECU...but if u could find a RS ecu and do a part to part replacement..u got wot u need...well close ratio gear box with a final drive is not that hard to find...also dont forget machan...if planning to do a tranny change...get ur self a LSD..or perhaps...jus find out whether ur EK3 came with a LSD since its a manual....or else if u happen to run towards my office...im humbly asking u to jus drop in and take me in a test ride....LMAO....cheers mate...all da best with ur ride...ah..ur previous ride jus got her self a rear wing...its kinda upgraded now...lol....

Hi guys,

I'm new to this Honda world. Can you tell me what are the differences between ES1, ES8 and ES5? which one is the newest. or isn't there something as such? Which one actually does fit to 2.4Mn budget ?

Any idea about trim levels?
