not unless you have a gift or a blue permit. i suppose YOM2007 is the oldest you can get away without the aforementioned permits.

this RMD trading fellow's (dhamith) wife works in my office (although he is in japan now). so if he tries to cheat you then you can PM me and get his whereabouts but i agree with you it is high time dhamith gave some assurance on the final price. i plan to talk to the bugger on the same issue again today.

i think that, of the cars he has quoted a price of, honda fit is the best value for money.

bdw it is not RMD fellow him self who posted the price in this forum. i think it is some other AL member who has received the email that he sent out who just posted his price list.

well according to some informed sources.. and my knowledge.. we will never get teh full benifit unless we import it our selves and cut the middle people off.. for some cars the middle buggers take up to 1 milion..

so madz.. why not get a chartered flight for all AL members and lets put a trip to japan..... still worth it me thinks...

actually the 2nd hand market is quite hilarious. i saw some idiot 2006 indian alto owner had quoted a price in siyatha tv program higher than the brand new price of an indian alto.

on the subject of november tax hike, i think it might make sense because the reason why gov reduced the tax was to increase government income in the short run. however it could also be a very well cooked up story by the car dealers to make super profits out of panicking buyers. i think only P.B Jayasundara, Basil or Mahinda might know exactly what their plan is.

This is just only a mere 18% reduction.

I think if we actually see we should get hyped about this duty reduction. I think its just a mental game that they are trying to play. If you actually see even after this duty reduction we are still having to pay more than what we paid 3 years back. So i don't think it is still cheap even though we are just hyped up by the attractive marketing.

i was checking out the papers today for used cars. many people have claimed to drop prices but below are some of the ads with prices quoted

used mazda 3's are going about 3.1 and up.

mazda bj5's are quoted 14 and up.

hondas pricing hasn't changed much.

there doesn't seem to be much of a drop in cars below 2.5 mil.

i did see gc plates 3 series at 3.7 (which is a decent price) but a face lift quoted price is 6 mil
