thanks bro :)

well... since one of our family friends did import the vehicle by him self(he hand picked the vehicle)and his profession is vehicle importing,i highly doubt that its not genuine mileage.

but yeah... i am thinking about a full service but want to see you guys thoughts too..

btwn.... is there anyway to check that the mileage is genuine or not ?

I really would not trust trust really low mileage readings. The average km driven peryear in japan is something like 7000. Take that and how old the car is into account before trusting anyone with it. I think they do certify the mileage for an extra cost. Anyway telltale signs that your car has been used more than the odometer reads are worn out parts such as shocks. At 4000 something miles there should not be a simgle worn out part and the oil in your engine should come out looking like it's almost new. Either way I wouldnt worry about mileage after buying For peace of mind just change all the fluids and you can drive it like it's brand new.

could anyone help me with this ? :(

and how could i check that curent milage is true ?

Any decent garage will be able to check the basics of the car for you. There's that place in maradana that I've heard some good things about Ar****n motors i think. Don't think they specialize in the swift but either way all you need to do is check the basics.

Suspension

Brakes

Fluids

Belts

If those are good then I would not worry about it. As for mileage there really isn't a way to check it after it has been changes. Excessive wear on a car with only 4500 is a good sign of manipulation though. Either way just don't worry about it. Even if it was changed you are not the only person in Sri Lanka tohave a car with fake mileage. A lot of unregistered vehicles have had their mileage changed.

Just check the four things I've asked you to and stop worry about the car and start driving it. If something breaks those, remember that this is Sri Lanka and anything can be fixed here.

  • 3 weeks later...

hi..

i am having a problem(not sure it is a problem or not) so i thought to add a new post asking it :)

when accelerating the car, acceleration in 1st gear is pretty good.but when i put it to the 2nd gear, acceleration is not noticeably quick.

i know the 1st is quicker than 2nd but i feel its lower then it should.. any swift owners can give an idea about this ?

thank you

Hi guys,

My family has planned to import a car from japan because vehicles are cheaper comparing before days.

So we were talking which one to buy and which are under our budget and finally i came up with 2 cars.

Suzuki swift and Honda fit.

So i want you guy's ideas about these vehicles.. which one is better... fuel efficiency, comfortability, performance, spare parts etc.......

And swift has 2 engines 1.3 & 1.5.. which one is better if i have to go with the swift ?

Thank you.. <img src="http://forum.autolanka.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

if i were to decide, i'd go for fit.. superb handling and excellent fuel..
