And three of us weren't in the featherweight class! :D Tho I have no idea about the fuel figures.

i think it was closer to 10kmpl machan - just managed to get it into double digits if i recall right

but very respectable given the we were 'motoring' & it was just one sub 65kg passenger in there ;)

On another note, The allion is actually a bit more than a "121 dressed in drag". It was the replacement for the Carina, a size larger than a 121 and is in itself a pretty decent car. Have driven and been in a few and for a mid size jap family sedan it's impressive. High marks for refinement and ride comfort and the VVTi 1500 actually is an eager little motor if you know how to wake it up.

Did Colombo to N'eliya for the mahagasthota race earlier this year in one of milindus. Managed to get there just 5 minutes slower than we had managed the previous year in a certain Black 300ZX.... ;) Got very decent fuel figures too, something in the order of 12-13 (we weren't keeping it under 2000Rpm :P) if i remember right, with 4 blokes in the car! And no, we didnt put it in neutral downhill.

true... be it slightly grudgingly, i'll accept that even the A15 is quite decent :)

Well I think it's the 1NZ-FE 1.5L VVT-i engine that was talked about here? :) I believe it IS possible to do 60 km/h at 1500 rpm and 100 km/h at 3000 rpm, cuz it's about the same as I've noticed in our Yaris (1200+ kg with passengers) with a smaller 2NZ-FE 1.3L engine and auto transmission. And it doesn't take too long to accelerate to that either, as it's not very easy to do some fast 0-60 in Kandy with all the small roads and torrents of cops all over. But the fuel consumption is way off blink.gif , cuz the best the 1.3L auto gets in town driving is 11 km/l here! But ofcourse, Mr. Neville should keep his foot buried to the floor sometime to feel the G's, and gears changing at 6000+ rpm tongue.gif
