Actyon 2010 - Need Feedback Asap

Hi All,

I'm keen in purchasing a vehicle and am seriously weighing my options in favour of the Micro Actyon. From those who own an Actyon, I'd like to know your view on performance of the vehicle, aftersales/maintenance and some input on the re-sale value as well. Also, in the absence of rear AC ducts, could you please advise how effective the AC is for the rear seats.

I sideswiped one once and took off the front mudguard... Intense satisfaction for me, because they are designed in such a tasteless manner.

i think ur money is better spent on a jap SUV..

the diesel actyon is around 5.5 mil if i am not mistaken... not worth the price..

and agree with VVTI on the design aspects... the design has no distiction.. its not a car.. not a van,, not a suv.. not a jeep.. its just an odd shape of sorts...

is there any 7 seater version? Actyon is 5 seater and if I'm to opt for a SUV or a Jeep it should at least be a 7 seater. Why to drive around a muscled beast only to occupy 5. I would rather opt for a Mitsu Pajero.

If I had the money to even consider getting a Actyon as a SUV, I would put that money on Monty or even that Nissaan Y61 that was for sale on AL few day back, the white SUV.

I somehow disagree... I always had a bad impression on the kind of people who drive that hideous thing. When I knocked the truck in the middle of the night, the abomination of humanity that stepped out confirmed my fears of the kind of people who drove them.

hate to be judgmental, but that guy was a moron and despite me saying its my fault and that we can settle it through Insurance, he wanted to take me to courts. I said, if that is the case, your insurance payment will be only through the courts.

Claimed to be a CEO of some company who could not string together a coherent sentence in English!

2 weeks later, I went to courts, paid a Rs. 1500 fine and came home... no discussion of insurance.

hmmm fair enough I guess...some makes and models do tend to attract all the dickheads...but I still cant help liking the actyon double cab,specially in electric blue I think it looks fab.

I came across a blue one like you described a few days back in Rajagiriya. It had HID fog lamps which annoyed the f*ck out of me. They were badly aligned and left me partially blind when I glanced into my side mirror. I swear I wanted to back up into a few times just to get the annoying glare out of my eyes.

The actyon's been beaten by the fugly stick - no mercy for sure. But, if you like it go for it...it is your preference and money in the end!

On reliability- early Ssyanyong-Micro cars used to give trouble about 1-2 years down the road if i remember right...although i haven't heard that story lately.

In my view, MICRO has become one of the most successful companies in Sri Lanka and done so much well compared to many businesses in Sri Lanka during the past few years. MICRO being a car company, in order for them to do well, they essentially need to sell a lot of their products. They have been able to achieve this. It is a fact that you see so many MICRO (SsangYong) vehicles on the road. (Mostly Rexton's and Kyrons) It also seems the majority of the concessionary permits given to government officials were utilised to bring down MICRO/SsangYong vehicles. (Red plate Kyrons are a very common sight on the road) People may be buying MICRO vehicles for various reasons. But numbers itself gives a clear indication that they have become very popular among Sri Lankans. (Probably Sri Lanka is SsangYong's top selling market)

SsangYong vehicles are actually not that bad. They are as good or as bad as most of the better established marks. The Rexon in my view is a very handsome 4x4. I do agree that the Actyon has a very odd styling. It looks neither a car nor a SUV. It's a crossover. (The BMW X6 has got a similar body with better styling ofcourse) But it's not like most softroaders. It has a proper ladder frame chassis which makes it a serious 4x4. Going by the way it is constructed, I would assume it to be a lot more safer vehicle to be involved in the unfortunate event of a crash than being in most of the softroaders that are competing in the Actyons market. Ugly it may be to some, but the Actyon has a good road presence in my view.

The interior may not be the most inspiring in its class, but it surely is quiet especially for a Diesel. When you close the doors, the cabin is surprisingly quiet and feels cozy. The engines are strong with their Mercedes DNA. The Kyron and the Actyon both use a common engine. Actyon being smaller and lighter, the engine is more responsive and feels more than willing to do its job. (These are first hand experiences I have got)

Now the fact we need to keep in mind is, we are not living in USA. Our road conditions are quite different to a developed country and even if you get an Aston Martin, you will hardly get a chance to experience what that car is really intended to do. (Enjoyment will be purely the aesthetics)

No car can remain perfect with age. When you get a Brand New vehicle that is peace of mind for several years. Plus you get the warranty for the first 2 years. With age all vehicles will develop problems and rattles. (Whether it's an Actyon or some other vehicle) A 2010 Brand New Actyon will not disappoint the buyer if they can tolerate the crossover shape. It really depends on the individual taste.

If you do not intend to put your vehicle to hard use, you could go for a Recon Petrol Softroader. But if you need to cover lot of miles on a daily/regular basis, then you are better off with a Brand New Diesel vehicle which the Actyon will deliver. (It is a workhorse)

I can't really explain why, but I hate Actyon. May be coz of it's ugly looks... May be coz it's a cross-over... May be coz there are far better options for that price.

Kyron and Rexton look much better. But i hear even they lack in the fuel-economy department.

I have no intentions of disrespecting Micro they surely have come a long way. I see two major reasons for their recent success.

1) Friends/partners at high places (adoption of Micro friendly policies)

2) High import duty and taxes

Now the prices of unreg cars (specially SUV's) have come down quite a bit let’s see how they'll survive/cope. BTW what are the price tags of their SUV's now?

These CEO type don't want to lose money (bonus). Hence he will now claim from your insurance. But that too will take at least a year

I heard that on some permits issued in last few years, it was required to buy from Micro. I don't know if that's true, but it would explain the large number of permit cars from them... the luxury of having friends in high places

it was the last bunch of permits issued. It didn't say micro specifically, it mentions the vehicle should have n percentage of local value addition leaves rest out of the competition.

I think the provincial council permits have such a clause
