0 Sylvi
Guys, I want to know what does this engine type means? Exactly what engines do we commonly come across.. Malaka, Free wheeling means according to my knowledge is when you release accelerator pedal and neutral the gear engine runs but the vehicle will move on the road without engaging on to the engine via gear box It is you drive and neutral the gear then the car will move with out the engine power vehicle speed will become slow and finally will come to stop the moment of the vehicle. for example home garden grass cutter has this method in the final drive when you accelerate the grass cutter engine the rotary cutter blade will rotate but when you decelerate the blade will rotate for a little time and stop. I remember old DKW cars had this system it was a option on them if you order you can get this system fixed from the factory then there will be a fuel saving on your driving but it is not recommended for hill country driving because when you come down on a hill there is no connection with the engine via gear box. Then you have to depend on the brakes to control the speed of the Vehicle on the down hill. Wijesinghe
