Toyota, Mazda And Honda

Question

Posted

I have a plan in buying a car and my budget is 2.7 to 3.5, but my concern cars are Mazda 3, Axela, Toyota Allion, Vios and Honda Civic ES5 or ES 1 2004, I like all the cars but I don't know the mechanical problem of these cars, as I heard Mazda has and looks and as well as the Allion got the second market, but I should be satisfied with Fuel, looks, comfort, second market values and power, which car do you experts ask me to put my hands on. Hope some of you know about these cars.

Your valuable comments and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Kindly do assist me in this regard.

Thanks

Fizz

from u'r choice the honda is crap

i'd laugh at any fool who would buy one

mazda can be good

but u have mentioned 1 of the only 2 toyota i'd recomend (allion and premio)

The power to weight is (nzt260) 1.5l 110 bhp for 1200kg

honda's 1.5l is a high reving v-tec 109bhp

Don't know bout mazda

Most balanced definitely the toyota

FYI my daily commute is no axio but an old but cefiro, axio is for my extended family usage. but it is indeed good for you though if you haven't figured the difference between vios and bland but axio x (this by no means to say axio is any fun or radical choice).

Ha haa haa... funny...

So its not your car after all!!! so much for our drag race...

^ Hehe. I was reading some of your old posts few days back... nice :D

as noted in many places i love what honda used to be not what it is now. i don't think honda sucked but it sucks now with new generation line up and company direction.

You can do a search to find out about spare parts availability.

Dunno what the current 'market value' is for an Axela, but if you pick up the Hitad mag or go through the AL classifieds, you'll probably get a good idea.

For bhp figures, weight and all that; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Axela

Where can we find Spare Parts for the Axela.

Are the parts cheap comparing to Toyota's and nissan's as you find them everywhere.

Don't worry mate. There are two known places at Panchikawatte and Car mart is also doing the needful. Also there are thousands of Mazda 3 and Axela on our roads. Therefore marchants will definetly import spares.

How about the spare parts cost for Axela and can we find the parts in common as toyotas and nissans, so is it expensive comparing the toyota's and nissan's spares.

Can you compare the service offered by Car Mart to that of Toyota Lanka or Stafford? If car mart sucks then you will have to depend on local garages

So you mean to say that Car Mart is an international operation or something? :P

I suppose you havent heard of Mazna Motors in Pepiliyana, recognized independent specialist for Mazda?

People have fallen into the mistaken assumption that Toyotas and Nissans are the only makes that can be maintained outside the agents and that is NOT true...

Thanx Mate... How about the prices of the parts are they are okay and how about the service cost??

Have you got any major issues on this cars like suspension issues, any engine related problems as so far I have got good comments about the car, so if their are any uses or any one who know something about this kindly advice me.

Thanks, Cheers :D

mate.. dont expect the axela parts to be hanging on local junks in delkanda or any corner of this island since it is still too early to get this used cars in to dimantle form. so what might mostly available are brand new parts at the agents or at rainbow motors or at Maxxna guys. this scenario is similar to axio or any new japanese car.

hmm, well that's a reasonably good statement. I would like to know the current market value of a 2004 Axela.

It's a good thing mazdas can be maintained outside agent

Because the agents (c*r m*rt) are very Impolite

Once I went to get a brochure for a 407 (Same agent as mazda)

and they told me that they couldn't give brochures to everyone who come trough their doors and they will give one after the purchase of the car

So how are they going to sell vehicles anyway

We would have to inspect brochures from someone who bought one

If I were you, I'd personally import a 2007 Axela from Japan with no 3rd party involvement. One of my colleagues did just that and I think he manged to get the car to his hands for about 3.3 to 3.4 mil.

Well still there are 3rd party individuals who can bring down a 07 Axela for that range (3.3 - 3.4) easily. AS I've said before the logic been importers have a relationship with the exporters. They've been buying cars in the past and they will buy more cars in the future hence they have a superior bargaining power compared to someone who wants to buy one car just for his use. It is this discount that the importers pass on to the end user.

If anyone need contacts PM me.

Don't give him false hopes Isuru.:) You can't import a 2007 Axela now for the cost that Ranmaal has imported. Now it is very difficult to find a decent 2007 Axela below 130 JPY. Last weeks tax for a 2007 Axela was 18.25. At the current ex. rate the cost is around 36.5-37. At the rate that JPY is appreciating it could go even higher. But still I agree with u that it is the best value-for-money car available today.

BTW are u back in SL..?

Machang is this for a last lap car? If so i find it hard to believe that duty has increased by almost 150 to 200k. Over the past month even past three months the exchange rate has not gone up more than 10 - 15 cents. It just doesn't add up. unless the importer made a cock up somewhere.

Prices in Japan has settled down somewhat mainly due to decrease in demand from local importers. If anyone's looking into importing a car this is the right time.
