My dad recently changed the ATF on our ce110 on the insistence of the mechanic and apparently he used the wrong kind of ATF. It worked ok for a day or two until the car stopped pulling on D(rive), the engine just revs up and the car crawls forward. Going up an incline was an impossibility.
Took it to another mechanic, who said the tranny was gone, and we'd have to plonk in a new one costing around 50K.
Just today when we took the car out again, presto! It was pulling like normal again!
Has this sort of thing ever happened to anyone else here? I mean I don't want to waste 50K.... Could there be something else wrong here? I live in Kandy so coming down to Colombo to get it checked out by a pro would be a little tough. I mean if the tranny is really gone so be it, but it started working like brand new again!
What is the deal with the car market these days!!
I went to check on a Jimny, 2016 2nd owner and he's hellbent on 6.8mil for the thing,
approx 50000km+ mileage
Needs tyres, rear shock absorbers leaking and there has been an aircon repair as well.
(Approx 400k LKR in pending repairs making the total 7.2mil)
Whereas a brand new one can be imported between 8.2-9.5 given the grade and winning bid.
I ponder what the mentality is of the people of this country...🤣
Nissan is bringing in the Primera nameplate back. I hope it's not going to be some boring crossover but a car that will have superb handling, good responsive reliable motor like the Primeras of pre 2000. I also do hope they don't go under and the Primera becomes their saviour.
