Hey guys,

Quick question. Does anyone know of a place here that I can get my torque wrench recalibrated? I dropped my digital torque wrench and managed to knock it out-of-calibaration.

hm...i'd doubt you'd find a place here machang... Just check with AC paul chaps and see

Well it would suck I I can't fix it since this wrench cost me quite a bit. BTW where's ac paul? never heard of them. If worst comes to worse I guess I have two options..... Ship it wout for repair or try to do it myself (although i'm bad at math and can see a lot of things going wrong with me trying to make calculations in order to get the right specs). Anyway let me know where those guys are located and I'll have a look there.

Well I'm not looking for a torque wrench just looking to get it recalibarated. Already have 3 but the one I dropped was my favourite snap on digital one and I would hate to toss it aside. BTW if you are looking to buy em I do vaguely remember that the jubilee post place had em. Have to visit them for some bolts so I will try to get the pricve for you. What torque range are you looking for?

Oh and thanks for letting me know the location.

BTW while we are on this topic anyone know where I can by an air compressor at a decent price? Just need something large enough to run my pneumatic tools such as the ratchet and hammer. My shoulder which I injured during an accident has been acting up lately making it harnder for me to be spinning wrenches.

if you are going there to check if they can fix your wrench, you could also check with Cambridge Traders which is about 2 doors away

Jubilee post is that place called Link right? yeah that joint too has some good tools and stuff.

was at AC paul over the weekend looking for a hole saw...Man all the great stuff those buggers have! :(

pricey but very good stuff!

I'm not sure whether they calibrate tools but chances are they would know if it can be done here and the locations for such

sorry for digging up an old thread. But does anyone know how much would be a decent torque wrench?

woh, that is quite expensive. anyway where I can find these kind of tool?

Thanks for the response.

link. Seen some go for real cheap at the pavement shops at panchi. I wouldn't trust those for the slightest bit. Just buy a good brand.

actually considering the prices of good tools these days...that's not too much.

for instance, an 8mm socket wrench is about 2k

bit out of the thread, but is it normal to have a oily surface near and around intake manifold gasket?

 Perv :P

:P

I was merely wondering how this was only a 'bit' OT when in fact i thought it was completely OT. The thread was on tools and suddenly pooof, an oily surface near a manifold appears :D

send it Nominal Size and Thread pitch, ill send the roughly figures, or else you can calibrate it by SLSI easily

Members ,

I don't think any one has a facility to do a correct calibration of a Toque wrench in Srilanka.

During my heavy engineering days I used to change mechanical Toque wrenches every three years.

I used to buy them in Singapore or USA.

Now I have a Mechanical Snap On Toque wrench which is about ten years used only three times.

I still have Lucas T/R and few tools Testing meters belongs to my late father.

Sylvi Wijesinghe.
