Dropped My Torque Wrench

I don't think any one has a facility to do a correct calibration of a Toque wrench in Srilanka.

During my heavy engineering days I used to change mechanical Toque wrenches every three years.

I used to buy them in Singapore or USA.

Now I have a Mechanical Snap On Toque wrench which is about ten years used only three times.

I still have Lucas T/R and few tools Testing meters belongs to my late father.

Let me correct you Sylvi,

You can calibrate any tool in Sri Lanka at SLSI. Thats the best place in the whole region to calibrate torque wrenches.Even Airlines like Kingfisher and Jet sending their tools here for calibrations.

Next time you can send your tools there.

I checked up by telephone they do calibration of some instruments for a fee of Rupees 5000.00.

Good news..they take aprx 7 days for calibrations. Fee is high got to agree.SLSI certificate is accepted globally even Pentagon and UN.

if i'm reading it right...the price is 5k yeah! well imho...that's not bad at all.

have heard about it and also have visited the place when they do exhibitions. did not know they offered this service to the general public.

Infact i happened to overlook this topic. Would've posted something early to avoid confusions. They even calibrate cheap thermometers. Pressure gauges etc.

SGS is an inspection, verification and testing company and it is a world leading company

You can do this kind of job there if you not interest to a GOVERNMENT place.
