1. Brand new imported 2003 ES8 is EXI DOHC engine and not V-Tech. 2. 2.8 million for 2001 model is too much. 3. If the steering is EPS, You have to spare approx. 100000 Rs for the rack replacement with lower arm bushes.

Dear Friends, Recently my car started rattling while braking at the speed of above 80km/hr. I feel the steering and the dash board start vibratings when you paddle the brake slightly down at high speed and when you press hard it gives some rubbing noise as well. After changing front disc pads with genuine parts from the agent it has done about 20000 km. when I told this problem to the agent they asked me to phase the discs but I persenally checked the discs and found those are smooth. According to your experience what will be the most possible reason. Could be the inferior quality of the pads? Thank you, Jagath

Dear Bro, Don't expect to recover expenditures by selling the car. Second hand market in here is very low. Our company had one s60 diesel one ane and gave problem from the day it purchased at last it was sold recently only for 12 lacks. (I think that car was assembled in some where out of sweden)

They said that if i want they could cut and fix but it does not like original and they wanted me to find a used one from delkanda area. So my idea is to go to Kurunegala or Katugastota to find one. All civics are made in Japan but their domestic model is called CIVIC Ferio ES1. Face is bit different and 1.5 cc engine . In here un registered market is bit less than the ES5. My one is ES 1 auto. There is a mechanic called UPUL from Malabe.

Es 8 is brand new imported by agent 1.5 cc and Es 5 are mostly comming from singapore and used ones and engine capacity is 1.6 cc and majority is vti. 2nd hand ES8 face lifted model market is betn 2.8million-3.2 mill. (Y.O.M.is after 2004) and the older version is betn 2million- 2.4 mill. Face lifted ES5 (Y.O.M.after 2004) has got a heigher 2nd hand market and between 3.2mil- 3.5 million. Both cars body exterior is more or less same but interior ES8 is fabric and ES5 is leather.Colour of dash board also different. Agent of Honda is better than other agents in Sri Lanka. Out side also you find some experts.Spares are freely available. But honda multimatic gear box (CVT) gives problems over the period of time. Therefore better to go for Automatic or manual gear box.

When I am driving at D mode at the traffic it shifts to the 4th gear even it reach to 50 km/hr if you remove the foot from the paddle and gently presh. Threfore it rapidly changes if the traffic is congested. So if you love your honda gear box better to drive at D3 when at the traffic.

My car doesn't have a overdrive button on the lever. It has D D3 and 2. Agent told me to engage to D3 while driving in the city. i.e. no overdrive is engaged.

Yes DUNLOP is a good brand also you can't buy any other japaneese tyres for that price. DUNLOP is very comfortable and sound less but only thing is side wall is very thin and take care when you are going closed to pavements etc etc . Other wise tyre has good performances. Always I go for japaneese dunlops.

Out of all I belive MAZDA 323 or Familia Y.O.M. 2000/2001/2002 is the best for the value. Some time you may able to find CIVIC ek3 Y.O.M.1999 normal car also. Better to go for a well maintained japaneese one. If you are going for a brand new one MICRO trend is better than VIVA(Peruda) configaration wise. These two vehicles are small hatch back and good in fuel. Good Luck.

acutualy it is doubtful. When I asked TOYOTA LLANKA at the time of introducing YARIS they said that it is assembled in INDONISIA. Very recently they have told to one of my friends that it is made in Japan. Please comment if some body knows the truth.
