Hi Mates, My Corona Premio dashboard glow light/ turbo light is always on. It is a diesel vehicle. I went to several places but no one could repair it. The glow plug power timer is working properly while being checked with a light bulb. Turbo is also working properly as beyond 2000rpm I can hear the turbo switching on. Please anyone help me to solve this prob. Thanks

Toyota ATF dextron III is Rs 2700 for 4 litres at Prageeth motor stores Kiribathgoda. If you gonna change by ATF changer it will kill 10 litres approx (as changer keeps some oil) (also this is going to the profits of the machine owner as they newer drain it). But manual changing use nearly 4 litres (that is the figure for my Corona premio a some what bigger car). Also see comments on this forum few months before regarding different methods of ATF changing.

Most of the diesel cars came on permits as I remember it was on the year 2001 last, so if you are planning to buy one it may be brandnew of year 2001 or 3 years below reconditioned one the latest. Very few diesel vehicles came beyond it, as importing of such vehicle leads to high import tax.

I asked from RMV regarding the registration. They said; two baches were registered due to court order, if new order issued with relevant chassis number they will do it. But who knows when court order comes?
-
After the sleeve job I did 250,000km and the engine was running good when I sold it. But remember with genuine sleeves you may not do that milage, I used Polgasovita sleeves.
-
go to RMV and tell u'r problem. They will give u data valid only for license.
-
Something terribly wrong. From my previous experiance, although I replaced the sleeves nothing done to bearings (2c new engine with bake exhast on cam- lotto). I did about 250,000km myself and sold. I think your oil changing interval is too high. If you need performance go for Delo or anything else but change @3000km. If you want t save money go Caltex DS40 around Rs1500 for 5 litre and also change @3000km. Also see topic I started "oil changing interval with different oil" in this forum.

My Corona Premio has a problem of not switching off the glow (diesel) bulb. The timer is switching off only problem is the bulb. I think that guy can repair it, can you please give me the details of him. Or mail me "[email protected]"

I forward you a mail informing a place about recondition tyres. Good luck.

my car was not charging and I went to several electrical guys all of them repaired alternator, stareter motor etc but nothing worked. Finally a smart guy in Yakkala found out engine earth was oxidized and after cleaning the chaging voltage boosted from 11.90-12.20 to 13.2-13.30. Now I realized the importance of the earth and planning to introduce additional set of earth cables to body and to engine both

If you requested from fuel station they should give you a calibrated measuring can.

Alarm For 100deg Centigrade Temperature

Anyone please reply??? -
Thanks guys I corrected it myself. I opened the top tank by just opening the Aluminum Huck's. Upon inspection the top of the radiator core was completely blocked. Cleaned each and every passage by rodding and high pressure wash. I bought a new top tank from panchikawatta @2750/= and a pack of "JB Weld". I should have used the old Copper tank but since it looked ugly I replaced with plastic tank. Then kept the tank in place, applied JB weld and complete Huck was done. Since this is the second time they have opened about 25% of them cracked off. On top of the Huck's again JB weld applied. Allowed for 15 hours curing and put back to use. Now for the second day it runs perfectly. What radiator guy told me is that you can not repair the joint. Bullshit!!!!

Bottom of the water pump is provided with a hole such that, if there is a water leak from the seal of the water pump water drips through the hole. In such a case you have to replace the pump as you can not repair (in Vanettes). pumps are available in motor spare parts dealers as this is a common problem.
-
Sorry I do not have any experience with that as my car is Diesel.

I do not know about now but before around 10 years ago CPC bowsers were used on Petrol & for diesel it is hired. Since petrol is extremely flammable this was done. Regarding the quality of the oils CPC oils are tested and I know they are very good than IOC cheap Indian scrap I think they are the same quality as other Indian goods. Regading the quantity every shed shall give a measuring can upon request. But no one ask for it. Yes each & every shed pumps different quantities since adjustment of meters are done by the officials upon bribes given by the shed owner. Regarding IOC sheds government measurement department takes care. Also depending on the pumping speed quantity changes. As I can remember in "Tokheim" meters the slower the meter runs leakage is higher means give higher quantity than measured. But in "Vane" meters it is the other way. (Tokheim & vane are two brands) So, here in SL we can not change those corruption. We have to try & find out what shed gives the max. What I do is tank full, meter zero and check thck the cost/km in next tankfull. It will give somewhat better selection. But I always go for CPC fuels (Laugs also sells CPC fuels).

Alarm For 100deg Centigrade Temperature
ravisam replied to ravisam's question in Mechanical problems
Suddenly in a case if one radiator fan go off, or thermostat valve seized, or water hose burst, there will be no indication except the temperature meter going high. Although I am always keeping eye on the meters, this happened to me when I was climbing a Utuwankanda hill (between Kegalle & Mawanella in Kandy - Colombo Road). I saw the meter in quarter of the hill climb just 2mm below the H line. In the hill it didn't took 2 min to go up. So in case like this it is very important to stop the engine and wait a while to prevent the engine from extreme temperatures. (I think no need to say what will happen to the engine). The alarm is just a warning signal indicating that high temp is observed. It will not shut down the engine. -
