Gear box (recon) will cost you around 25k. I think it is better to replace than repair.

Hi, When I was serching a vehicle one owner said that he has introduced an alarm for his vehicle, it alarms if engine reaches 100 degrees centigrade. Is anyone in the forum know a place to buy such a sensor and get it installed?

Hi Guys, My car Toyota CT210 model had small water leak at the radiator top core to tank clamp joint. The plastic tank had been changed to copper by the previous owner. So I went to a radiator shop and they said they cannot repair copper to aluminum joint. From the same shop I purchased ABRO radiator leak stop and introduced to the coolant system. After a while I saw the temperature going up and upon inspection I found the leak stop blocked the water pathways. Can anyone please tell me any remedy. Also I' like to know the price of a reconditioned radiator if anyone knows. TX

I have worked in Benzine manufacturing plants abroad. I have been educated how toxic they are. Even in hailing when you loading in to tank, vehicle fumes inside your garage will slowly kill you. Also think a bit about the atmosphere and the others.

If you want to increase the battery life, there is a product they say it increase the life up to 8 years. We have t buy 6 pills for Rs 1500.00 and shall be added yearly. But this should be done before the battery is dead. I added in May 2009 to my car battery which will pass two years on Nov 2009 still it performing well. Do u guys have any experiance of this?

For corolla's Diesel original chassis number starts with "CE" for petrol it is "AE"

I do not have any experiance with the perticular brand. But, normally vibration come when an unbalanced mass is rotated. So I believe this can be eleminated by balancing the tyres. Alignment shall be done after that.

Machan, do not use Benzine it is highly carcinogenic. You will be the first guy who is affected.

Talking about CPC fuels I know there is a clear difference of Octane rating. Do not know about IOC.

Thermistat is inside the top radiator retern hose fixing metal fixture (engine side). If you need to purchase it they may be available at recon parts shops. But before replacement check that they have not blocked the water pump bypass hose.

Our topic generator is not that rich enough to maintain the brands you have specified. Since he is going to buy his first car with 6.5 lakh we should advice him to get a maintainable car at reasonable cost. You all tell about all the vehicle brands in the world. I know non available parts can be air freighted and imagine the cost and also I agree that most of the vehicles are good. The question is the maintainability at reasonable cost. If you buy a popular vehicle you can even go to used parts dealer and find the part or even modify and use near version's parts. Here is a good storey; One of my bosses had a Mazda Tribute and its Alternator was gone. No used ones are available even the agents did not. He rewind it but not worked. Finally he got it imported from singapore withing around 10 days, due to some customs problem it took another 20 days. The vehicle was in guarage for 1 month. The cost was more than 100k. But if the same thing happened to a Toyota Prado within few hours it was back to normal and the cost will definitely less than 20k.

The double cab you are referring has a chassis breaking problem as I can remember.

My advise is as follows No 1. Toyota No 2. Nissan No 3. Mitsubishi Newer go for anything else. You should remind that you have to maintain the car and when you need to sell it should be re-sell-able easily. For example try to find oil filter for the said models before purchasing you will feel the difference.

Atomatic Transmition Oil For Toyota
ravisam replied to thusithasam's question in Mechanical problems
Pull out your transmission oil level indicator rod. At the bottom it indicates the type to be used. I believe for your vehicle it should be "Dextron 11" Toyota oil should be the best for your vehicle. I bought the same @Rs 2700.00 for 4 liters form general automobile shop. So it is cheaper than most of the oils. -
There will be no problem to your engine if it runs under the designed temperature. If the engine is operated in it's designed temperature (ie 90 degree C) it will give you maximum fuel efficiency. So do not worry it will do no harm to your engine except a fraction of diesel quantity. Here in Sri Lanka most of the vehicles are operating the same way.

Take this also in to account; FB15, Bluebird sylphy, Allion, Corolla - Made in Japan, N16, Vios - Imported from Singapore (Not Japanese do not know the country of mfg) It is proven that although Vios contain the same engine it ts not fuel efficient as Corolla & Allion (domestic models) Open for discussion.

Except others advise I suspect this is a problem of your condenser fan. Check that when AC is on both of your fans are working. If the fans are not working after some time condenser will go high pressure and AC cut off by high pressure cut off switch. When pressure becomes normal it will normalize again. I recommend only one place. From Mirisswatta towards Gampaha it is Bandiyamulla there is a cemetery, in front of that there is a wheel alignment place & adjoining AC place. Both places are good, although I am staying in Wattala I go there for both the works.

Bro; You can not even think of politics inside this business.

Thanks 121 for your lengthy description. Now I thought of going for nano technology. Since my car is Diesel I think we can fix the unit much closer to the injectors. At leaset 1km is better than nothing. As you told water coming means complete cmbustion, better for the environment too. What was the cost?
