2007 EJ20 ? are you sure about this. Getting a complete engine and gear box for Rs 200k is a steal... weather whether you restore the car or not just buy this.

You could also go with the option of replacing the unit. I guess it was fixed to the car for a purpose so removing it entirely without knowing what its supposed to do could be risky in the long run. May mess up the air flow sensor reading etc.. maybe someone could chip in with a more precise technical concern of removing it ?

Think your issue/question is not very clear... for one I doubt the car could be running rich just cos that unit is removed. Do you get a excessive petrol smell ? And why would you want to remove it in the first place ? Is it to improve performance as you believe it will give less resistance ? Also for there to be carbon build up you may have been running it for a while in this manner ?

You do know his age right.... anyway I will make sure to express my disappointment to him the next time I meet him...

I think its 5w40, like blkr6 has mentioned the number is not a big deal as its Sri Lanka the given range would fit well weather its 5w40 or 10W40 etc... Also he has pretty much covered it as a thicker oil is better on a older or engine as the thinner the oil the more likely for it to burn and pass through small cracks etc... they is a minor compromise on engine performance by going for a thicker oil but its very insignificant. And all the claims by oil giants saying their oil will give you better milles per gallon is too hyped up, at least in my opinion.

I have heard laughs oil is also pretty good... if you frequently change the oil I guess its as good as the big brands but without the premium pricing. I have shifted to Castrol Edge Sport from Motul. I honestly cannot feel any difference in performance but from what I have read its one of the best oils out there.

Doubt you could find a diesel CRV in that range... but overall the CRV seems to be the better pick from your list. Guys... quick question. Thinking of getting a PS3 , I know it can play 3D moves and games but will it still work if I hook it up to a 3D TV which uses passive 3D glasss ? ( LG) From what I check on the net Sony is using active 3D on all its TV, so wondering if the PS3 is also wired the same way. And if its not compatible with the TV I have a problem..

Super stuff MeanGreenZ28, and the car looks fab.... could you please tell me bit more about this plastidip stuff , is it heat resistant and when you spray the thing does it spread evenly ? or do you need a really steady hand like when using normal spray paint which tends to drip sometimes.. Thinking of getting down few from E bay and use it on the alloys ( plus point is can always go back to the original look if needed). But don't want to make a mess of it if the stuff is difficult to handle.. btw.. since you have retained the hood scoop is there water getting inside the engine bay from this ? or have you covered it up..

No, I assumed u were on full cover. My advice is best u go for a full cover you never know when a big accident will happen, and u will regret it. This guy I know busted a SX4, his fault paid close to Rs 1 Million on repairs as he was on 3rd party and tried to save... If its third party, there is no point in calling your insurance. Then u must put the entry in and get the cops to prosecute the guy. but if he does not have insurance the court may decide how much he has to pay... VERY big procedure for a small scratch, and not worth it. But do put the entry anyway even if you repair it yourself.

Thats it, and the Police will take care of it.... most often they will do nothing but at least its on record and you are safe. Also if this vehicle was involved in a crime it may help the investigation process.... Since u said the guy is young its very likely he does not have licence.... If u feel the scratch is big enough to get the insurance to pay for it call them immediately, now since you did not do that they will ask you to come with a police report ( after u lodge the entry and get a certified copy of the entry, usually takes week or two, depending on the station). But before u do that see if how much u will loose on the no claim bonus, if you have a good NCB, its best to do the repair yourself.
