Auto Transmission Pulling Power Problem
Tikiri replied to Hiran Ganegedara's question in Mechanical problems
Its bit diffcult to judge that this may hv happen whether due to the ATF change or its a coincident. First try the basics, correct oil level, cable / accelerator adjustment etc.. Some times it can be in the pump as most pump service places do various gimmicks to reduce the smoke.. There is a specialized AUTO GB workshop in Pannipitiya as you pass Manchi factory about a kilo meter on the left when going from CMBO just one block behind high level road, forget the name but you ask any one its a big two storied work shop ask for Auto GB and Turbo garage. -
Rad**tor H**se & CT Lion** both are equally good, have used both. They do repairs as well as turn out new ones.

HI Agreeing fully to Randhiv and second same. Mark ll will be a better bet than the Chaser (100 series) if you want to compare in terms of finding body parts here. GX 100 6 cylinder Beams engine is better than the 4 cylinder, by the way I had a GX 100 2.5 ltr vvti the engine that comes on the clugger and that was a real pleasure to drive. Also Mark ll looks bit better than the Chaser, we also got a 90 series Chaser in teh family for the last 14 yrs, absolutely no problem. Good luck

How much have u done after the repair. If its at very early stage after the repair this may happen but that's why u season the engine. Are the Pistons genuine? Probably u will have to give bit more detials I am sure others will be able to shed more light then.

Hi all Whilst appreciating views from all, would like to add that the most brand new imports compared to the domestic ( recon) models got a different suspension, and less in options like the trim, some times even the metal is little weaker on the brand news. The domestics got to compete with other models and got stricter consumer protection laws. I personally think a domestic one is better, Good luck

Pls double check, this is first hand experience and what I hv heard from few users too.

Its between 4 to 4.5 kmpl in urban. Even long distance hardly any noteworthy improvements.
-
HI, Same model auto does only abt 6 , so manual may go up to abt 8.
-
Its a good model, BUT, low resale value, bit difficult to source spares.

I don't think so, it is applicaple to all Wester Province registered vehicles, I did one last Nov, this Jan and just today too. Think it is only for other provinces they have put it on hold till the court case is over.

This is a GREAT IDEA. Count me in too, I am sure more to follow. Evolution and change will always happen. Well there are much more stories about the CCC , if you talk to some of the older generation both within and outside the club they will tell. CCC will become history, from classic to vintage and ....... Good luck Cheers

Hi MG - ZA. Its EL - Believed to be on the first batch of 30 cars imported to SL. Understand that only 80 were imported from both ZA & ZB. Still got the Old CR. Car and all parts are in tack ( except for few little bits, which are freely available.) I drove it last4 1/2 yrs ago. Body - quiet a bit of tinkering, but In order and with straight lines and not dismanteled. Mechanicals - It was quiet roadworthy, with a full service and doing up of the brakes you can run. But if its a full restoration better doing up. Upholstery - Needs to be re done Dash - Needs to be redone Considering a full restoration rest would be for wiring, and cosmetics. What else you would like to know. thanks Tikiri

Hi I have been giving lot of thoughts on this as I too got few cars idling and finally have decided to part with following 2 cars, mainly due to reschedule, lack of space, time and difficulty of doing parallel projects. MG ZA - EL Car in tact but needs a full restoration. Location Kandy (City ) Few remaining from the first lot of imports to SL, Austin Cambridge - A60 7 Sri Old book with one registered owner, in fair condintion, good body. Running car (though I have not run for about 7 months) very little tinkering (negligible) Location - Between Pitakotte & Thalawatugoda Both are ideal restoration projets, willing to consider partex. IF you need further info pls do not hesitate to request. cheers Tikiri

Thats correct , but he has parted most, the TR to Akbar brothers and another to Sidath F, Cheers Tikiri

Hi, What do you'll thing of the market for a pre face lift, 2000, e46 320D 65- low genuine mileage of 21k, all service records available, one owner would be. Re, Fuel pump story its a self lubricating pump, so if you don't use for long intervals it tends to pack up early. thanks Tikiri

Hey guys, com'on.... Don't look at all things in the same way.... As far as I am aware laughs is already doing it and soon there will be 8 centres island wide. All cars that are locally manufactured / assembled should have emission test report for RMV registration, this is the first phase, in a phase out manner all vehicles will have to undergo this. Laughf's they do a pretty good job, sorry can not get around them, I had an issue with cops running with smoke, due to sensor issue on idle there were no smoke, I was asked to get an emission test and report back, failed thrice with Laugh's and ultimately had to go through rectifying. Then I learned that this is going to be mandatory, but introduced in phases and they have left margins depending on certain circumstances. I think this is a fair move, we all have our responsibilities towards the environment. If we were in another part of the world we wouldn't have grumbled on this. Cheers Tikiri

Probably thats the asking price for a relatively good car, would'nt be surprised even if they ask more, if you can get it below 2 mil you got a deal. Engine is cheaper to rebuild, less maintenance other than that. Good luck
