I see then it is in line with what I read in the Honda Japan archives.. Sadly they have hidden information about the 1st batch of FD production from 2005 to 2006 which this FD1S belongs to. Yes, maybe Stafford brought in FD1 models initially (which did have sun roof and cruise control).. in the latter years I think they only brought down the FD4 variant which doesn't have either and with minimal options compared to the JDM counterparts.

Well @iRage there is a FD1 model in Sri Lanka with the sun rood and that is referred to as FD1S.. It is highly probable that it is this model everyone is talking about.. @iRage Have you seen FD1 cars in Japan with the sun roof? I think two members own/owned this particular model with the sun roof.. @fiat fanand @ICL

Were you able to know the country of manufacture of the car? JDM FD1 GL has specifications similar to what you have told. In Japan a package called S was offered on top of the grades for FD1 GL and FD2 GL which added some cosmetic mods and as per the information available there is no sun roof included for the S package. Cruise control was an optional extra that was available for JDM FD1, FD2 and FD3. So there could be cars with and without cruise control. So seems the car you have mentioned is a FD1 GL unless it has the options included in the S package like alcantara seats, trunk spoiler, half shade front window and rear privacy glass. Here you will see a summary of the options according to grade and what the S package offers for the latter models starting from 2007 and ending in August 2010 (which the car in question belongs to. As per the information I gathered either the FD1S with the sunroof seems to be from the initial batch of FD series manufactured between 2005 and 2006, of which the options and specifications are no longer available in the Honda Japan archives. Maybe @iRagecan shed some light on this FD1S with the sunroof. If not the cars with sunroof are not JDM and imported from countries like Singapore etc.

As @asrock has pointed out its a common issue with the Aqua and Axio.. Maybe due to their side mirrors sharing the components. Guess you will have to live with it.. But, I heard Toy#ta L#nka doing something to repair it so if it bothers you a lot you can maybe consult them and see. There maybe others also who can work on it and improve the condition maybe.

Premio has better ground clearance on paper than the CHR AWD as well. CHR AWD has 155mm of ground clearance (without the body kit) where as Premio has 160mm of ground clearance for the 2WD model.

Usually the CVT oil which is (Honda Multimatic Oil) should be replaced every 40,000km (which is the service interval recommended). However, since the car is equipped with a maintenance minder it must be giving the reminder when the oil change is due. Since you are anyway near the 80,000km mark you can get the CVT oil changed with HMMF (use this oil and not any other CVT oil). Maybe the previous owner did the previous CVT oil change before 40,000km mark so the reminder is being triggered. Google translation of the 1st image says shortly maintenance; so I guess it can go another 1900km till the HMMF oil change. But, no harm in getting it done earlier. Sooner the better Hope you have maintenance records etc. that backs the mileage of the car.

For the priorities you have listed above the Premio would be the better choice. When getting it check if it has the latest safety system and the the additional air bags (in terms of safety the CHR is better). And do note that the CHR is also comfortable and would be a more engaging driving experience than the Premio (from the above feel that you value comfort over driving pleasure ). It also has adaptive cruise control to make long highway drives more comfortable which the Premio does not have.

Same story in SL too minus the snow let's hope things would improve soon!

Nice in-detail write up Wish you many fun filled miles ahead!! Keep updating us on the ownership experience

What's the Effective Usable Capacity of your hybrid battery?? You can replace with a brand new battery or a used one, the latter being the more cheaper and popular choice. If you can get it done properly from a trustworthy, skilled and knowledgeable mechanic then both options would give you trouble free motoring for many years.

A used sedan under 4M for a newbie driver?
Dee Jay replied to Tharun 93's question in Car Buying Information
Like all Toyota models Axios are heavily over priced. For that price range you can get much better vehicles than the Axio.. Is the FD1 you looked into a full option variant like with sun roof, paddle shift, cruise control etc.?? FDs also like other cars have appreciated in prices due to the corona effect. FD1 cars are in demand when it comes to the FD series in Sri Lanka. The price might seem a bit high, but check for the maintenance records and the condition of the car.. If it is in good condition and properly maintained then that would be justifiable. Because many people are asking for FD1s in the FB group as well but people aren't selling them to meet the demand. Like @Hyaenidae have pointed out you might not be covered by the agent in Kandy. However, parts are available and many bring down parts and courier them to your location. So, you will have to find a trustworthy competent mechanic to do the maintenance if you go with it. FD1 isn't a very complicated car and there won't be many issues other than those that are common for a car of its age. There are people running FDs in Kandy so I guess maintenance isn't a big issue there. Another thing I'd like to highlight is the ground clearance factor if you live in Kandy. FD1 has 150mm of ground clearance so if that's okay for you then no issue. Otherwise you will have to worry about scraping the underside. There are a few FD related threads in auto lanka you might want to read -
Starter motors of vehicles equipped with auto idle stop systems are built to meet the demands of harsher stop and go traffic conditions be it an econobox or a luxury vehicle. But, having said that every component will have a life time. While 24,000 km seems too early for a starter motor of such a vehicle to give in, the traffic conditions and the start stop cycles each vehicle would undergo in a particular mileage may not necessarily be the same.. So the life time might vary due to that. Most probably the 12V battery would have weakened (even some 1000cc Civics needed 12V battery replacement at similar timelines) and the starter motor should be fine of the OPs car. Hope @Tharaka Dias will update this thread on the cause of his issue and what he did to resolve it..
-
Check the condition of the 12V battery from a battery workshop first. Since your vehicle is 2 years old and spent 24,000km in Sri Lankan roads, it might have weakened due to the traffic conditions. If it has you will have to replace the 12V battery with a compatible one if not this function will remain disabled. However, if the battery is okay then you might have different issues like mentioned above.. When using the start/stop feature be mindful on how you use it. Disabling it would help increase the longevity of the battery and some other related components. However, its ok to use it when you are at a traffic light if you will not be inching forward..

The issue mentioned seems to be a common issue with automatic gear boxes.. Could you please let us know your vehicle model and YOM and mileage etc.? And have you maintained your car well up to now? ATF changed on time? Most probably, you will have to repair your gear box or replace with a recondition one. But, a simple ATF oil change might also fix your issue, if it is due for change soon..

The 10th generation was launched in 2016 and the mid cycle face lift is also out now; so by 2021 it would be 5 years old in the market.. The new one (11th generation) would be launched in 2022 as I read.. Yeah, it seems like that.. Even the newly show cased BMW M3 and M4 has similar tail lights I guess..

Yeah Civic X UK spec one

Well, I feel since the OPs vehicle is a large vehicle with a small turbo charged engine and especially since he has to do an immediate climb better to let the vehicle heat up a bit.. Otherwise the turbo could get damaged.. Same with shutting off the vehicle..

Yes, that would be a good practice plus follow what @Hyaenidae has said.. Since, the 3008 is a small turbocharged vehicle let the engine cool off for a bit before you shut down the vehicle as well to help the longevity of the turbo..

Most probably your AC condenser is leaking which is the root cause for the AC issue in the new Civic.. you will have to replace the AC condenser and then refill the gas.. it will cost you around 70k I guess.. this was discussed in the other Civic 10th generation thread in detail by @misnad and others, you can refer that for more info..

I have seen a Peugeot only garage in Kotte, Epitamulla Road.. but haven't got their services nor do I own a Peugeot so I can't recommend their work.. there are a lot of Peugeot models that have come for repairs up until the likes of the 406s and 408s bearing English numbers there.. Not sure if its mentioned in other threads or not but just added so others using Peugeot may comment regarding this

Seems so isn't it? It is a 3 cylinder engine even though it is 1500cc isn't it?

I got a quotation of 62,319 from SLIC for 3.1 million last Friday

1. When it comes to Honda hybrid batteries the Usable Capacity is around 75% for the Nickel Metal Hydride batteries and around 50% for Lithium Ion batteries. Therefore, your Vezel having 47% is nothing to worry about. What is the YOM and mileage of the vehicle?
-
Well, if I were you I would get a quote for the same parts and repair else where as well and see. If you can get the suspension parts at cheaper rates I guess any garage would be able to handle the suspension related repairs at a lesser cost than this. Kia labour charges are high it seems.. Same with engine mounts, bushes and pulley repairs and can be expected with the mileage. Get a quotation for the genuine parts outside and see. I guess you could use the turbo charger a bit more unless the previous owner has ruined it somehow?? ? Check and see if there are reconditioned AC vents available that would be a lot cheaper I guess. Another strategy you could follow would be to attend to the things that need immediate attention and sort out the rest little by little..
