Please could anybody help on this?

I have Toyota model:Toyota Mark 2 Navi package 35th Anniversary, Chassis: GX110-6092479, Year: 2003.

Engine Light is On, since yesterday 23 May 2011. So, i dont know what is the problem, am leaving interior area in Tanzania.

Disconnect the battery cable for few minutes and reconnect... if the check engine light still stays on, you have to connect the car to a diagnosis scanner to determine the fault.

Take a look at your owner's manual toward the back where they show you how to pull MIL codes. Get that code so you know exactly what is wrong with the car. Removing the battery cable will re-set the MIL light but will not address the root cause. Simple solution is to also make sure that you've tightened the fuel filler cap properly which can cause a check engine light. Short of that, you'll need the codes to do a proper diagnosis.

didn't know you can pull codes off obd2 systems without a scannner.

Ahh... good point. Missed that bit of detail.

Just have someone retrieve the cods for you. Paying the person few bucks will be worth it to know what's up.

It's possible in some cars by doing the "key dance."

most likely something wrong with your electrical system, catalytic converter or even a misfire. best is to get a scanner and get it checked. would give you the accurate problem

I just did the diagnosis, it says vvt maltfuctional system.

So, my mechanical car service the car by changing the oil and oil filter and the light went off.

That is it...

You mean to say your mechanic serviced your car, changed the oil and oil filter and now the check engine light has gone off ?
