So much of hate for this car, it would have been a better design for the London Taxi cabs.

Drove it when I was in the US in the early 2000s. God it was horrible. The engine was whiney and stringy and did not have that much power. Okay..it had power but not enough for that heavy booty. Sure..something like a Corolla was only about 130hp but the car Corolla was about 150kg lighter. AND felt like it would last for three generations (at least). Then drove one in the late 2000s during a visit. It was still bad.

Having said that...its retro looks and abysmal feel was part of the experience. I could see why some people did like it.

Also...this car was a rental fleet favorite next to the Taurus.

well the answer is more or less out there... the car is from the early 2000's when car makers were coming up with some out-of-the-norm designs, including retro inspired models like the mini, VW beetle - at the same time others were coming up with some interesting designs like the Nissan we discussed earlier. One final call for someone other than iRage or  Gummy to claim this...

I thought @iRage literally spelt the answer out, so felt like there’d be no point in attempting afterwards 😅😂 but yeah, it’s the PT Cruiser

So... yes! It is the PT Cruiser. A weird oddity from the turn of the century. To add to the odd-ness : this was classified as a light truck by the US Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Well iRage was first, Gummy followed and Duan also got the answer right. Floor is open gents. Anyone can post the next one.

Hmm very strange indeed. Has a look that suits the Royal Family of Britain 😜 (I have seen the late Queen travels in a similarly shaped car, could be a Jaguar?)

"look that suits the Royal Family" ...cos it looks weird and outdated? 😛

well it does have similarities with the London Taxi

WRT to the late queen - the only car that comes to mind that has any semblance is the Bentley

That honeycomb pattern on the light can be very misleading :)
So the next gen is supposed to come out and it is apparently going to be a pure-bred model. Despite people being harsh about it..the current model is actually pretty damn nice car. Has the (stock) characteristics of the model's legacy in terms of driving characteristics.

A new gen already on the way? I thought everyone hated the current gen for being a reskinned model of another brand though you can say that it has kept the straight 6 in the more expensive version.

See..those who "hate" it are 90% of the time those who have not actually driven one and driven simply by the hype of the previous generation (in fact they don't even seem to care about the existence of the previous generations at all). Yes...the internals are from another brand and is manufactured in a country that has nothing to do with either brand BUT the model in question feels distinctively different from the other brand. Also...let's not forget that contrary to what the hype suggests, this particular model from the get go has been a car made up of parts intended for the brand's large sedans and sports coupes. In fact the legendary engine everyone harps about first came in a large sedan (in the racing circuit !). It was the brands poster car but not a complete halo car that hype makes it to be (apart from the suspension system on the facelift of the 4th generation of the model everything else was borrowed from other models and tuned up).

Well this particular model also came with a straight 6...
Yes..a new one is apparently in the works (according to industry speculation in Japan..and the little easter eggs that were dropped in the most recent season of company's anime series). This apparently is developed completely in house.

Ok then its a Toyota Supra Mk3 Turbo from the late 80s to early 90s

No wonder this was tricky as I also was familiar with MK4 only. MK4 lights are distinguishable.

You can post a new quiz now I hope.

See ! Everyone loves the MK4 and gives MK1. MK2, MK3 and MK5 the step motherly (or step fatherly) treatment :)

Aiyo I'm not treating cars like that ever but between the following 2 cockpits, I'd chose the left to feel like i'm more in a fighter jet or something 😃🥰

The old one looked very ergonomic with everything driver focused just like the BMW's of old.

Ok then here goes, I was following one recently, like they always do it had the wrong badging, but I was quite intrigued by it as I like these weird cars. There was only one generation as far as I know.

This is a tough one.  This just keeps reminding of the Crown Majesta but It is not. I just can't place this beyond that this is a Toyota/Lexus Sedan from the late 90's - my guess is probably an obscure Lexus made for a specific market. Am i on the right track?

Well you are on the right track, one hint I can give you is that the name of the car when we say it as per the badge shouldn't be the way it should be pronounced. Atleast there is some progress from you statement.

Well I still could not get it! SO i started traversing through the Toyota Road car timeline focusing on the early 2000's looking for a potential model...and then I suddenly realized you had dropped a clue! I am hearing of this model for the first time! Surprised to know that we have this in SL. Anways I think I got the answer - more of a lucky break so I'll wait for others to have a crack at it.
