Alright, would YOU spend 31 mill and buy a used vehicle, when you have the option of so many brand new choices? Why would you?

If you have that much money, hopefully you have enough education to understand what a depreciating asset is.

with all means i agree with you !! every vehicl dse ! but some depreciate alot compared to some yea !! so thats why i have to chose btw the LC200 or LR4 or the montero !!

An LR isn't Japanese.

You want a Japanese vehicle that will hold its value for daily use, get a Premio.

i knw ! thats why i was considering the LC200 and the montero

yeaa true ! i do agree with you ! na im not buying it on permit ! yeaa its 310mill ! true i test drvoe the LC 200 n it feels great !

If I were you, would go for a Patrol version like Malla said, cos you get it fully loaded and a newer model, and more importantly its more than 12 million less which could be invested in the Stock market or put as a FD in a bank then pay for patrol and maintenance through the interest rate. and cum resale time you will be +12million!

Jaliya you are getting a lot of investment advice from an automotive forum. A person with a Rs 400,000 budget would wonder why the hell a person with a 4M budget would want to analyse various options before investing in a vehicle. They would also comment that if you have such a budget, why would you want to spend all that on a vehicle rather than investing some part in gold etc. But the fact is that whether your budget is 400K or 4M or 40M, a rational person would analyse the options before buying a vehicle. You are at one league and the bunch of advisors are somewhere else. That is why there is such a big disconnect. I do not think a single person owning a LC200 or a Disco4 has replied in this thread. You have made your investments right in the past and I am sure that is why you are in a position to buy a LC200 or a Disco4 today so it makes me laugh to see the comments of our investment advisors advising you on this forum.

I think you will have to get in touch with the right people who actually own the models you are looking at. Like someone has pointed out at the beginning itself, this forum is more for the ordinary and wanna be's.

Although it is tempting, do not bother to reply to some of the silly comments and opinions you see here. Just not worth it. You have already made a mistake by throwing this topic in this forum. If you are in the Corolla 110, Honda EK3, FB15 league, well this will be the right forum but not for anything above.

All the best with your search

What a stupid thing to say. I mean women have vaginas, right (perhaps you haven't been able to confirm that first hand yet, but trust me they do)? Yet they go to male gynaecologists who don't have a single vagina between them to advise them on how to deal with problems with theirs. AL forum members may not have vaginas, I mean Land cruisers, but many of them know what they are talking about. About cars i mean, not vaginas. :)

From your 3 choices the LC200 is the best by far. I have one (and I did check out the disco 4 at the time as well) the 4.5L twin turbo V8 is a reason enough to make that choice. It's still a de tuned version of what's offered in europe and australia (not even our super diesel is good enough to run in that state of tune). It's also got all the creature comforts and build and meterial quality of a luxury car and a very capable 4wd system 2 spare wheels and a dual fuel tank which is helpful for long and rough trips. It's worth mentioning the fact that the Lexus LX570 is based on the 200 and both share the same mechanicals and dimensions. The interior is a pretty close match as well. Having experience with the domestic petrol 200 (not the 202) this seems more comfortable as well. When time comes for a change leaving inflation out of the equation you just might make some money out of it as well. That's never bad thing.

About the discovery 4. It's a decent vehicle but they don't offer the 3L twin turbo in the discovery 4 over here so we get the step motherly treatment and an old 2.7L engine which was offered in in the d3. Which to be honest sounds plenty in theory but in practise pretty slow. It won't be tough and reliable as the 200 either.

Finally the montero. It falls way behind both the competitors above, in other than the resale value where it'll come in 2nd to the mighty Toyota.

Hope this helps.

Very good reply on those three SUVs.

But if the potential buyer is not to be thinking about the resale value, there are other serious off roaders for that price, which includes the fully loaded (Incl; all exclusive options)Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid (more economical than a Diesel), Decent spec'd Range Rover, HSE Range Rover Sport, and Merc GL Class.

You can also add the BMW X5/X6 and the Audi Q7, but they are not at all off roaders, more like vans with AWD... but then again you really have to have balls to take a Rs.30+ million SUV off road!

the thing with porsche is that there is a very long waiting list from what i hear. I started a topic abt 3 months ago "Land cruiser 200/202 , Prado 4L Vx or the porsche cayenne" check it out.

Anyways We ended up buying the 4L prado. to be honest it has more options than the diesel brandnew 200.. its as comfortable, and the 4L prado generates the same 202kw as the 4.7L LC200, ofcourse the 200 has a bit more torque.. it was 21mn and i think its a good option for you jaliya

The problem with the Prado is whether it's the 2.7 or 4.0 it's way too common. You take a ##### on Sunday you see over 20 of them for sale. It's a decent vehicle but cannot be compared to the 200. And the extra options available would the surround view cams and the terrain response system. Also the 200 diesel has 650NM TORQUE. It'll pull a house down.

Posted

Also if the priority was having all the options under the sun in your suv a Lexus RX450H SE-L PREMIUM would satisfy anyone's need. You name it you got it. And at around 15.5 mil it undercuts almost all decent 4x4s. The landcruiser 200 diesel is about balance between comfort on road with go anywhere ability. And it treads that fine line pretty damn well. I know you need some guts putting you 20+ mil vehicle in the rough. But it sure feels good knowing that if the need ever arose it'll kick ***
