the thing with porsche is that there is a very long waiting list from what i hear. I started a topic abt 3 months ago "Land cruiser 200/202 , Prado 4L Vx or the porsche cayenne" check it out.

Anyways We ended up buying the 4L prado. to be honest it has more options than the diesel brandnew 200.. its as comfortable, and the 4L prado generates the same 202kw as the 4.7L LC200, ofcourse the 200 has a bit more torque.. it was 21mn and i think its a good option for you jaliya

I don't think the OP wasn't born yesterday to think that the prado is even a match to the LC-200

+ there r 120 pradoes going for around 6mill and 150's for around 12mill which r 2.7L but with the sri lankan market the 4L ones market will become lower with time due to high fuel consumption, and every tom dick and harry will have one (every nimal sunil and sarath here  )

The prado is a mid sized suv(like the santafe sorrento and monterosport) while the nissan patrol montero and sahara(LC-200) r large sized ones

It's true that the diesel LC-200's r pretty basic so it's better to go to a petrol sahara.

1 )vehicle is better ? All 3 vehicales awesome vehicales. LC 200 Would be a better choice for me, but then i dont mind the Disco 4 too as its uncommon and will make me special. 2 )which one has the options and best value for money? I really cant say because all 3 vehicales have different Trim Levels and will cost you more. 3 ) which is best on road and off road ON ROAD LC200 DISCO 4 MONTERO OFF ROAD LC200 DISCO 4 MONTERO 4 ) which one will have the best resale value in sri lanka ? LC200 MONTERO DISCO 4

Yhh I agree that LC is great car but DISCO4 has its very own unique Class. When it comes to off road I think the disco would beat the LC hands down assuming if its a SDV HSE version. The TDV engines are also ok except for the old 2.7L one which is bit slow and you can actually feel it. I think the TDV GS models (basic Model) have better seccond hand value and you can sell these bit faster, but if you buy a HSE or XS model specifically with a SDV engine it would be very hard to sell. The DICO4 HSE is a really amazing car to drive both inside and out and I would choose the HSE over any day. Btw you shouldn't be even comparing the Montero with these beasts :DD

hi guys ! i would like to knw ur opinion as to which vehicle is better ? all three are diesel. which one has the options and best value for money, and which is best on road and off road ? which one wil have the best resale value in sri lanka ?

I have the Disco 4 GS model and the 2007 montero diesel model. The disco 4 is far more comfortable than the montero. But considering with the LC200 and the disco 4, they are going parallel with the features.

Land Cruiser 200 would be the best out of the 3 for its reliability, second hand value and maintenance along with the relatively low cost in replacement of spare parts compared to the Discovery. But Monty is out of the option I should say

You got the thing right my friend, But I think there is no big difference between the 2.7L and 3L, because my one takes 11s to reach 100kmph.

Oh there is a difference. 2.7 is too under powered for such a heavy car. By the way your 0--100 kmph figure is way too slow for the 3.0 model. it should be around 9.5 seconds.

Yes yes!

Cos when you buy a 2000kg luxury SUV that 1.5 seconds is a deal breaker...

I agree that the sprint to a hundred ain't that important. But there is a significant difference in power in the 2 engines in real world driving conditions. When you're putting the kind of money that we do in S.L for a decent car that does matter. The 2.7 is also now discontinued for obvious reasons.

VDJ200, like someone said earlier. Just saying 4.5 liter twin turbo diesel v8 is awesome. not to mention you call pull a house behind you. in 5th.

Yeah the landcruiser can be called a beast but it's a bit too big compared to a range rover or others like BMW x6 for daily use

but talking here is older engines, if the OP is looking for a new car (2012) then all versions comes with SDV engines with around 255Hp, which is plenty of power.

IF i had this kinda money i'll buy a S Class AMG

You can't buy an S63 for 20-30 mil. It'll be easily touching 75 mil with the new tax increase. Maybe even more.

Then how about a normal S class? :speechless-smiley-004:

The S300 was going around 30-35 mil depending on the options before the tax and euro increase. Now I guess you're looking at a figure of over 40 mil.
