Ripper
bi xenon means that both high and lows are hid. low beams are generally for fog lights whilst high beam only version has a regular halogen as a low beam. HID's dont have filaments so bi-xenon feature is usually achieved by moving the bulb unit up and down using electro magnets. another alternative is to upgrade to a good set of 55/60w bulbs. genuine PIAA bulbs put out a lot more light than your average bulbs even with the same wattage

I think Toyota 121 stock headlight bulbs are H4 type. As Ripper has mentioned, Bi Xenon is the suitable type for your car. This is the socket type you need to get. - H4-3 Bi-Xenon (both high and low beams are xenon in a single bulb) For double check, please check your bulb socket type first and get the HID kit. You need to determine your bulb holder type... If your car has a separate low and high beam, then it cannot be H4. Have it checked if you do not know how to remove the bulb and check. Also, note that if you are fitting HID, make sure you fit it to the low beam and not the high beam. else you would be blinding the on coming vehicles.
Strikeee
While I was looking for a HID kit, I figured out they come in 2 wattages which are 35W and 55W. So if im to convert my lights which comes 55/60W... which one should I choose??
Charith H Jayasinghe
Usually they say 35w enough. They will give 300% lumen than normal halogen and it will healthy to your electricity system of the car. I'm using 35w and it is more than enough. Fix a HID to normal headlights designed for halogen, with out projectors is controversial.
Komisiripala
^^ what he said. 35watt should do. Try get it online it's cheaper
nano31
Do not change the bulb alone, I guess 2001, 121 reflectors are made for halogen; so If you need HID change reflectors/retrofit some projectors as well. Else better go with a bulb like Osrum Night Breaker,Phillips Extreme Vision or PIAA (piaa cost more than usual HID!)
terrabytetango
Consider fellow drivers and use bulbs designed for your headlight housings. +1 on Osram Nightbreakers, I think I've had them for over a year now and they're still fkn brilliant. Agree with you. HID should not be use on conventional reflectors. I also felt guilty while using it before fix projectors, because it is difficult to bear up, although it doesn't give effective illumination on road. Second that! HID (or any other bulb for that matter) fitted into housings / reflectors not designed for them can range from annoying to fatal for oncoming drivers.
